Spurs in 5. Bowen would have erased Peja and the series would have been over.
2003 Sacramento Kings
PG-Bibby
SG-Christie
SF- Peja
PF- Webber(healthy)
C- Divac
Bench:BJackson J.Jackson Turkeyglue Pollard K.Clark
I say Spurs in 7.That was the only team capable of beating the Spurs that year with a healthy Chris Webber. They would of beat Mavs if Webber did not get injured.
Spurs in 5. Bowen would have erased Peja and the series would have been over.
Parker vs Bibby
Claxton vs Bobby Jackson
Bowen vs Peja
Jackson/Ginobil vs Christie.
Divac and Robinson- Two old dogs
Great matchups
Mavs fans:You were not beating Spurs even with healthy Dirk.
Off the top of my head I can't think of a player Bowen owned more completely than Peja.
Spurs won 3 of 4 against Sacramento that season. The one loss, Tim Donaghy was on the officiating crew.![]()
Just check the boxscores of the 2008 series with Hornets. See Peja's numbers in Games 1 and 2 compared to the rest of the series. Bowen just shut him down.
Because POP had Bowen on Paul the first 2 games. He knew Paul was just too good,so he put Bowen on Peja and the rest was history.
no they weren't the SPURS FLAT OUT BLEW game one, killed the Mavs in game two and beat them at home in game three, they were winning by 10 or near it in game 4 when DIRK went down, thats basically 3-1. That fluke blown game 5 (Spurs routinely blew dumb games that year) made them think if DIRK was in there they had hope, but they were basically down 3-1 with him in there. That could have been a sweep honestly, if the Spurs did not choke in game one. Mavs frontline was not near good enough to beat the Spurs, they started playing loose and faster paced with Dirk out and it worked for a game and three quarters.
Spurs in 4.
spurs in 7
trusting in chokers(peja,webber)
kings team
exactly
The OP's on par with Eyestalker and Vito in thread making tbh.
The 03 Spurs would have beaten the Kings in 03 or 02. To much defense. The Lakers were the only team capable of eliminating the Spurs in those days. Their match ups were essentially the Finals for three straight years.
Marion was close.
