I was recently able to interview Spurs coach Gregg Popovich, talking about the Spurs, Robert Horry, Tim Duncan, and nutsacs...

adidas11: So coach, can you walk us through your mindset during the summer of 2003, when you were able to sign Robert Horry to your squad?

Pop: Yes, adidas11. Even though we had just won the Spurs franchise's 2nd NBA le, I felt something was missing from our team. An intangible, an X-factor. I felt our team didn't have that confidence, that arrogance that is needed for a great team to succed.

adidas11: And you were able to land Robert Horry...

Pop: The Lakers had off-loaded Horry due to contractual reasons, and the signing of Karl Malone. We felt to remain compe ive, and to give us a chance repeat, that Horry would be an excellent addition.

adidas11: Very interesting. Horry has a history of coming up big in the playoffs. Can you comment on this?

Pop: It's all about the nutsac factor. It's the simple matter that I felt our team lacked in nutsacs. Specifically our team superstar, Tim Duncan. I honestly felt that his nutsac was the size of a shriveled raisen. And look at Horry, for crying out loud! He had the opportunity to play on two teams, teams that could be said to both have a collective assembly of the largest nutsacs in NBA history! He won two consecutive les with Houston, and he won THREE les with the Los Angeles Lakers. I felt that if Horry could some how rub off on our team, then that could only make us better.

adidas11: Being a Laker fan myself, I am all too familiar with what Horry brings in clutch time. Not only making big shots, but bringing that calm, collective, and arrogant at ude when it is most needed. I loved seeing that in Robert.

Pop: And like I said, it has paid our team major dividends in these playoffs. Especially on Sunday night. When Tim Duncan's nut shriveled up once again, Robert came through. Scoring 21 out of our last 35 points is just unbelievable. Now I see why the Lakers were able to defend their le twice. Imagine having a whole team of basketball players who are like this! I can only hope that the Spurs are able to "grow" in that area, and that we can win the le this year, and consecutive years down the road.

Horace Grant for Jason Kidd? Horace doesn't play for the Lakers anymore...

Or do you mean Brian Grant? Yeah, I'd probably take that one, although I'm not sure how much it would help the Lakers in the long rung.

I'd rather pair Kobe with a point guard that can consistently hit from long range, rather than a point guard that needs the ball in his hands.

brain grant has a contract around the same amount of money as kidd
nets would want an expiring contract
you throw in the lottery pick and nets might do the trade
