Considering the actors, I thought it was going to be a solid flick.
Even though the language was english, I still felt I needed to watch it with sub les. 20 minutes in, just could not take any more and had to eject.
I really wanted to like this movie but was disappointed.
Everything about it was great but the execution of the plot. I'm wondering if the book was better.

The plot was very well executed, and hardly differed from the book. There is nothing simple or forthright about Cold War spiess/spy games, and the plot very much reflects that. I am still not sure why they made Peter gay.
I have no problem with the complexity of the plot. I was looking forward to something that required some thinking. But to me, it just didn't flow very well. Maybe I had my expectations too high.
I would have never thought I would say this but War Horse is more entertaining.
EDIT: Although I'm wondering if reading the book first would have made the movie better.
I have read all of Le Carre's books, and most of the really good ones involve Smiley outside of The Constant Gardner and a couple others. My roomate has not, and he got a bit lost until he saw it a second time. FYI the scene where he gets new glasses really helps decipher which scenes are flashbacks.
I feel the same way about this and War Horse. Was expecting a lot more from this considering the acclaim it's getting. Given the subject matter, it could have been...well, less boring.
