APRIL 19--In the midst of a live TV report about a South Carolina crime crackdown, a 20-year-old black man last night shoved a female reporter, grabbed her microphone, and screamed, "I am that " into the camera.

Shortly after bumrushing reporter Ashley Taylor, 23, during her report on the 11 PM news, Justin Moore, 20, was collared by Myrtle Beach cops. Taylor, a reporter with WMBF, an NBC affiliate, was not injured during the incident.

According to a Myrtle Beach Police Department report, Taylor told cops that "4-5 black males" approached her crew as they prepared for a report. "When she went live with her report one of the black males pushed her to the side almost to the ground and ripped the microphone from her hand."

After interrupting the broadcast, Moore ran off "laughing and yelling," reported police. He was later located by cops--who examined video of Taylor's report--and apprehended after he attempted to flee. Moore, a Charlotte, North Carolina resident, was also positively identified by Taylor.

Moore, pictured in the above mug shot, was charged with misdemeanor assault and battery, disorderly conduct, and resisting arrest. He is being held in the Horry County jail in lieu of $1356 bond.

Before Moore interrupted her broadcast, Taylor was planning to report on how escalating crime rates were impacting businesses along Ocean Boulevard, where she had set up with her crew. Immediately after Moore yelled "I am that " WMBF cut away from Taylor's report.
Glad this monster is off the streets

It's like they've never seen a black man before.

Funny stuff, but society ultimately wins by this outcome.

That was absolutely horrific footage. I'm surprised that disgusting pos criminal was even let out of custody.

Props to that brave little white girl for returning to the scene of the crime - while talking about the need for funding victims advocates (ya know, people that ensure victims of attacks aren't ever victims again). Poor thing, she was obviously still feeling the affects of the attack.

The fake race war continues. Bring on the race baiting.

But seriously, you call that an assault? The reporter makes it seem like the guy raped her or something. What a in' joke.

Midway through that video I became unsure of whether or not it was a joke. Victim? How is that even a crime? Do news reporters have some kind of elevated status in the law? If a regular person is taping someone and a guy does runs up and acts stupid, they take 2. This girl somehow became a victim at the abominable crimes unit.

    This is sickening and shocking.

That horrendous attack makes Lara Logan's assault and repeatedly being raped in Egypt look like a someone abusing the free samples at Costco.

    Stupid.

Makes me think of a crime report I got from Tulane a year or so ago. The school sends out crime report emails to the student body every time something happens in the neighborhood surrounding campus to make sure that people know what's going on in the area and to make sure everyone remains aware that stumbling home drunk in the middle of the night is a good way to get mugged. The description of one of the muggings last year said that a young girl (junior, i think?) was walking home alone some time between 5:30-6:00am when a black man walking toward her said, "good morning, ma'am," and her response was to scream, throw her wallet at him, run away, and report it as a robbery.

Why are you guys knocking on the reporter for?

That's probably the most act of violence she's ever saw in her life.

This is l nothing in my opinion but for some it will require professional help to get over.

Oh no, he's out on bond, you'd better get a gun and stand your ground.

I'd get a restraining order too.

I have to concur that it wasn't that funny but to call it assault is ridiculous. The guy should just be fined 100 dollars for being unfunny and not creative.
