He is a good rebounder and effective on both glass.
He has a great personality and willing to learn.
Late in 2nd round he could be a great steal for Spurs.

Agree. If hes there at 59 hes probably as good as you'll find. Never a bad idea to invest in bigmen.
The Hoops Report (June 8, 2012) has the Spurs drafting Aldemir.
A lot of mocks have us drafting some euro every year. Laziness. When was the last time we even drafted one? The Spurs have been playing NCAA moneyball for the last three or four drafts.
Last year, we drafted Davis Bertans and Adam Hanga in the second round.
In 2010, we drafted Ryan Richards in the second round.
In 2009, we drafted Nando De Colo in the second round.
You have to go back to 2008 (when we technically drafted Goran Dragic, but swapped him for Malik Hairston) to find a year when we didn't draft a Euro.
Touche'. I guess I was referring to the first round. It seemed like for 6-7 years, we would only draft Euros and stash them, and now, our major picks are NCAA kids. SA has definitely veered away from depending on the euro pipeline. It's now more like an afterthought.
I wouldn't say it's an afterthought. Rather, it's often the best option for the second round, because we can draft raw players and let them develop.
If you draft a US player in the second round, they'd better be ready to make the roster in year one. the further down in the second round they get picked, the less likely that is. (Depending on how much depth is in the draft that year, of course.)
With first round picks, we've been tending to go for guys that can help right away, which as you noted is usually college players.
This kid can really rebound. Since bigs actually rebound even better in the NBA than in Europe, he could possibly become dominant in that area. Worth a flier in the second round, IMO.
