I was excited for another Max Payne game but when I found out they took the supernatural elements out of the game I got disinterested quick.
So, I loved the first one, and the second one was ok. This one is not made by Remedy anymore, but was handed over to the same guys that did Red Dead Redemption. It even uses the same engine.
Anybody else looking forward to this one?

Part 2 was fruity but I'm looking forward to dis one.
I'm a bit chagrined, Rockstar's product has been lately, not counting RDR.
If Wikipedia is correct, Max Payne 3 is being done by the people who did Bully for the PS2 (Rockstar Vancouver). Rockstar San Diego (RDR people) aren't involved with this. Bully was a great game though but pretty amazing these dudes haven't done a game since then.

Never played any of the Max Paynes. RDR was amazing, GTA is damn fun although 4 got old fast, and La noire was a good game but I could never get into it.
Is this good and what's it about?
The first one is badass, my favorite game of it's type for those consoles next to Manhunt (need a non- ty sequal/remake to this too), but the second one was awful, Max didn't even look the same. Hope this one is better, but imo the game didn't really need sequels with the way the first one ended
never played Max Payne, but Max Payne 2 was great, more games like that need to be made.
not really interested in 3 because Rockstar.
edit: oh wait I have played the first one, just hardly remember it anymore

The first one was great... very film noir, and the first game with "bullet time"... the second one was more arcadish... I wouldn't mind if this one is open world...
I always thought I was the only one that didn't care for the second. The first was amazing, minus the dream levels.. It was one of the first great games for the xbox (ported from PC.. the PS2 version was ).
I couldn't get into the Second because the story seemed complete to me after the first.. I had a hard time caring about the characters.. and as someone said it was way too arcadey.
I rarely finish games.. like maybe a dozen I have in my life and Max is one that I did.. The second I played for a couple hours and just never touched again.
So, Im interested, but it could go both ways for me.
Oh and someone asked what the story is like on the first. Basically your family is killed, cops think you did it, there is some new drug on the street that is tied to your families death.. and that's about the basics.
will probably try this after i finish up mass effect 2 renegade run.
it's already out on the interwebs
Apparently, it's like a Max Payne themed Call of Duty... it's a linear movie-like story and you get the play the shooting actions... no sandbox on it... oh, well
And it's 2 discs...not sure I even want to burn my DLs on em....
lol burning... xk3y ftw
So it's exactly like MP 1 and 2.
Do you play on Live with that? Because some people recommend offline use only and the Max Payne 3 multiplayer looks pretty good, that and the new Ghost Recon.
Sons this game is trash.
But it isn't. Max Payne 1 had a compelling story, and was for the most part well done (perhaps the biggest drawback were the dream levels). MP 2 was closer to this.
Better to stay off live, especially if you run anything before release date.
That said, I've read people not really having a problem with it on Live. You just have to not give a if you end up getting banned.
I just don't have time for multiplayer, tbh...
It's very repe ive, tbh. And like I said, there's 20 other games like it out there now.
Just finished the game, it was hard as . But it wasn't anything special, I'd say it's better than GTA4 and LA Noire. The cover system was ed and only one point in the game did i feel like a badass. Alot of that had to do with the weak soundtrack.
rofl
Please dont ever say that again, ever.![]()
