Since the playoffs expanded to 16 teams, has there ever been a year (before this year, of course) where none of the 8 first-round series were tied 2-2 after 4 games? It seems like a remarkable coincidence to me.

LOL, I was about to create a topic about this. Every series across the league is 3-1 or 4-0. In particular, every series in the East is 3-1.

I love the fact that Miami couldn't close out New York, but the Spurs closed out their sweep of Utah. So right now, the only logical choice for favorites to the win the le is the Spurs.

Short of the Clippers/Grizzlies series, the 1st Round of the NBA Playoffs has been a disaster

My buddies (no particular team) are wanting to watch less & less. I think the next round will rebound

According to Accuscore (via ESPN.com's NBA playoff predictor), if every team that's ahead 3-1 wins the series, the biggest underdog in round 2 is actually the Lakers. The Spurs, Celtics, and Heat are 76%/24% favorites over the Clippers, Sixers, and Pacers respectievly, while the Thunder are 80%/20% favorites over the Lakers.

The Accuscore numbers for future rounds haven't changed during the first round, so I don't think they're taking the first round results into account.

    Thunder 80% favorites?

No, it doesn't. On the day of game 1, you can look at ESPN.com's preview and it will show Accuscore's percentage chance for each team winning, and from that you can calculate the probability of each team winning at home or on the road. Then you could come up with the chances of each outcome of the series, but not the single-number prediction you seem to be looking for.

I'm also assuming that there are only two probabilities for each team: one for a home win and one for an away win. That is, a team with HCA has the same chance of winning game 1 as games 2, 5, or 7.
