Because Duncan is Mr. Soft Serve. Any other NBA Superstar would want to take the team on his back and Duncan is too scared to try that.
Tony is the one who dissapeared in the second half. Tony is the one who refused to get other players involved. Manu is the one who turned the ball over 2 straight possessions and threw the game away w/ a rushed 3.
Manu and Tony need to get Tim involved in the game and Pop should put Bruce on Billups in the second half.
If the Spurs make these adjustments their hopes of dethroning the Pistons will be realized. If they don't...![]()

Because he has all the skills to dominate us, yet he choses not to.
Tim gets the ultimate blame and credit. This is HIS era.
The Pistons just played more intense, efficient basketball when it counted. I don't think fans should blame any one player.
I don't think he is scared, because he has done it before.he has just forgotten how. He needs to pull out the 03 vid when he single handidly took over against the lakers, or the near quad double against the nets, he needs to look at what he can do.
As another poster said, he has all the skills, he just needs to do it.
Tim Duncan is the leader of this team and even when it may not hang soley on his head he assumes responsibility. Just like the Admiral did before him. Tim, as well as the rest of the team, played completely uninspired basketball. Tim sent Sheed to the bench early and often with foul trouble and still could not take over the game. The le was his to take and he instead deferred too often.
Yes Tony hold onto the ball too much. Yes once again Manu was a turnover machine in the fourth. However, Tim Duncan is the super star and widely regarded as the best player on the planet. The best player on the planet takes over close out games in the NBA Finals. We will see if he brings his A game and wants it on Thurday.
The entire team needs to show and not put it all on Tim's shoulders. One person cannot win this by themself. Tony was absent part of the time and the role players did not fulfill their roles. It was a joint failure of this team and not one person and that includes Pop for not making the necessay adjustments during the game.
