The Spurs D was other too and Duncan was 4 years younger....
The 2008 Hornets [whom many NBA pundits thought was a NBA powerhouse team of the future] rolled the Spurs the first two games and had an incredibly hot David West and a faster verson of Chris Paul than is currently playing in the playoffs. They also had a healthy Tyson Chandler and the dangerous shooter that used to be Peja Stojakovic. J. Pargo was incredibly hot off the bench and other Hornets gave decent contributions. They also were better coached and deeper. http://www.nba.com/hornets/2008playoffs.html

The current Clippers are not only not as good or deep (although they will get many favorable calls) but have their "superstar" big hurting.
There is no way these Clippers can play the defense or inside game that tormented the Spurs in a tough 7 games series, and they are also facing a better, rested and deeper Spurs team. The Spurs also had to win game 7 on the road.

Spurs in (at most) 5.
The Spurs D was other too and Duncan was 4 years younger....
Yawn Spurs have greatest Point Diff in playoffs (consistent with reg season) defense is improving, Duncan seemingly playing as well as in 2008, and Spurs Much deeper and no longer play give it to Duncan only on offense. Spurs limit Paul somewhat and Spurs might well sweep.
Also Spurs greatly effective in bb and bbb games and the short schedule also seemingly favors (surprisingly) the SAS!
Duncan and Ginobili were much better back then.
And Bowen was still there
A big reason SA won that Game 7 was Pargo.![]()
I am expecting Manu to dominate this series - who is going to stop him with Caron banged up?
Yes and no
Manu was playing on one wheel, Duncan played the first two games with the Flu
Ginobili originally suffered the injury in the Spurs-Suns series in the 2008 NBA Playoffs.

Evans?
Sons, the clippers would need a series of fortunate events for them to win the series. Spurs defense will run their style to the ground..
sayin the clippers defense is , so there should be no excuse hittin shots...
Don't forget those Hornets had Tyson Chandler too, the current defensive player of the year...
Manu per game on that series :
21,3 pts, 6 ast, 4 rbd
Duncan per game on that series :
15,3 pts, 13 rbd, 2,7 ast
We haven't seen Manu having these kind of stats in a while
duncan is putting up around 17/10 vs a better defensive team in utah
DJ and griffin are horrible defenders
both are low iq/foul prone and fall for fakes
if ginobili puts up around 15/5/5 spurs will be hard to beat
clippers bench isnt as good as SAs
their frontcourt are all sub 50% free throw shooters and nick young is an iso hero who would be matched up with the bigger more physical Sjack/leonard/green
mo williams/foye are the only players to really worry about
if SA goes under every screen they can torch us from 3
king flop will keep these games close
I expect Pop to play the game of let Paul do his thing scoring and shut down the rest = game over for Clipps.
I also expect at one point of the series or another to see the Manu that was leading the league in PER the first two weeks of the season. Do not underestimate what 9 days can do to improve Manu's health!
