Smooooooth stroooooookeeee
I thought this thread was going to be about the 2004 parallels . . .
But yeah, I've thought of that comparison. Similar stroke in that it's short and compact but not especially pretty looking.
for a moment I thought you'd mention something about the similar streak we had in 04...![]()
Until Danny Green starts doing the head-shaking thing JJ always used to do after a 3, not buying it
It has gotten to the point for me that when Danny Green shoots a baseline 3 point shot or a one dribble pull up going right from 18 feet, I feel it is never going to miss.
Green's shot makes me
What kind of evil bas would bring that up?
I hope he doesn't get a pay day and then turn out like that.
It's not a fundamentally sound shooting stroke ...... but it's obviously been working great the last couple months, so yeah in that sense it's been beautiful.
I couldn't agree more, as presented in this thread from 3/17/12...

Just as I always suspected, Solid D is my John Carroll.
I forgot about that thread ... even though I posted in it like five times.
So far, he does seem to have some Jaren Jackson in him. The head shake and some crow-walking would seal the deal.
Green's footwork is all jacked up on his spot up threes. But they go in.
I used to cringe last year when green shot threes, now I cringe when Green doesn't shoot the three no matter how open he is.
His right foot is always way too inverted, yet it goes in.
Green is a bad ass. Enjoy him while he's here
You probably didn't see the thread a couple of months ago. Just a couple of gray-whiskered, seasoned Spurs fans in sync.
Nice photo comparison.
Danny Green actually plays defense though.
Stuart Scott said that we had this streak back in 04 when we lost in the finals to Detroit. He confused us with the Fakers lol
That other thread was all cluttered with factual analysis, but this was pretty good:
I seem to remember Jackson shooting like .750 against the Lakers.
JJ was The Eliminator, so what American Gladiators event would Green be? Maybe he and Leonard can be dubbed Breakthrough & Conquer?
I've heard Shaq say on two separate occasions that 0.4* won him a championship. Just a couple weeks ago on Inside the NBA he implied it happened during his first championship run.
You said it wasn't very pretty looking, I think his shot is exactly that. It must be quick releases or something but I sort of like Ray Allen's as well, but not as much as Green's. He swings the ball up quickly, elevates a good amount, and releases. I've always appreciated guys who seem to shoot the ball the same way when they get the ball, no hesitation, just pull up with a consistent stroke.
I heard that! I was like his mfer doesn' even know when he's won a le.
Shaq also said that his Magic team had 17 days off between the conclusion of the East Finals in 1995 (which his Magic team won in 7 games over Indiana) and the NBA Finals, and then blamed the 17-day layoff for his team's loss.
Ernie's stat guys pointed out that the Magic only had 3 days off.
They neglected to mention Nick Anderson's culpability for the Magic being swept.
ESPN has also started bandying around the idea that Lebron James posterized Tim Duncan in the 2007 Finals -- I've heard that twice in the last 2 days; I watch too much ESPN.
Was ready to post that when I saw this thread![]()
