sons the media needed to find "another Jordan" 12 years ago or so and they chose to push Kobe to the top and down everyone's throats. is he a good player? absolutely. is he an outstanding player? absolutely ... but he is NOT what they try to make him out to be. he has been blessed to play on stacked teams his entire career and has been given so much additional help from the officials that it is sickening. a glorified Tracy McGrady who can score a lot of points when given the green light chucking the ball and being awarded bogus free throws is all he has ever been. for every good game Kobe has, he then has three or four bad games ... but the media doesn't want you to know that. the excuses they have made for this piece of throughout his entire career are quite comical.

son if Kobe had been on the Charlotte Hornets back then do you really believe that his career would be what it is today? lol .... I mean at least think about what you're saying. he would have been just another "good", chucking shooting guard who can make the top 10 plays on SportsCenter every so often with some of his selfish and idiotic shot attempts. the NBA however had other plans and sent him to Los Angeles where they could groom him into being the next media darling.

son who really knows for sure? T-Mac had to play on bull teams for most of his career while Kobe has been handed everything on a silver platter his entire career. if T-Mac and been placed on the Lakers and Kobe had been placed on the Rockets (or Charlotte) ... who do you think the media and NBA would be pushing to the top?

Son, one thing that Kobe always had on T-Mac during the early 2000s was defense. T-Mac would only play a half court game, Kobe was good to great on defense during the Shaq era.

If Lebron did the exact same thing it would be Armageddon on ESPN the next 48 hours. Kobe does it, and it will be swept under the rug.

son that is because the NBA and media have invested millions of dollars, time, and energy over the last 12+ years into pushing Kobe to the top. they have to protect their investment.
