They gave up the history, name and colors when they moved. Your wish is granted.
The Thunder have never won a championship or been to the Finals. The Sonics' history does not belong to them.![]()

Not true. They do own the trophies and banners until a new team arrives in Seattle.
correct, we had that question before.
I know but it just pisses me off when people use the Sonics' history as the Thunder's history. The Thunder has never played in an NBA Finals or won the NBA Finals. It's about the dignity and respect of history.
Seattle should've built a new arena.
durant is the only heritage the zombie sonics bequeathed to them tbh
That jackass Schultz shouldn't have stabbed his city in the back.
Sometimes when I play the Thunder on 2k12, the pa announcer says "Sonics' ball"
pretty sure the thunder owners dont give a damn about the sonics history, his makn new history...and fck the sonics
yeah, the voices on 2k12 glitch out sometimes, don't they? i've had the announcer state "Stoudemire at the 4" when doing lineups for a Suns team, while he's on the roster of the Knicks.
"You Seattle Suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuupersonics ! "
Good times :-(

It's already come to light that Clay Bennett had no intentions of keeping the team in Seattle. The emails they released said as much. What a travesty that was, and still is.
I agree. If they at least kept the team name, I would've been fine with the move. Or if they changed the name but stayed in the city.
But moving cities and changing the name? They clearly wanted nothing to do with the "Seattle Supersonics" anymore, so they shouldn't be allowed to use their history as Thunder history. Then again, if the biased officiating they've been getting keeps up, they're not going to need Sonics history to be prestigious within the next decade.
That's true. Bennett hails from OKC and it was a foregone conclusion, the minute he bought the franchise, that it was as good as gone.
The fact is the citizens of Seattle had just built two new sports venues for both the Mariners and Seahawks. It was bad timing because they didn't want to foot the bill for another venue so soon.
That blame really goes to former Sonics owner Sam "Mr. Starbucks" Schulman. If he was so bent of having the Sonics remain part of the City of Seattle, then he should have either included a stipulation in the purchase agreement that the team MUST remain in Seattle or he should've sought out another buyer who would have had Seattle's best interests at heart. After selling the team, Schulman then tries to instigate a "fake" lawsuit on behalf of the city, claiming Bennett had misled him. Yeah right!
It's a damn shame for the fans and city of Seattle. It's a great basketball town.
Screw them bitterass Sonics fans. They lost (the team) we won. End of story. they want to hold on to that one le and the Payton, reignman glory days let 'em. We have a new history with a young budding dynasty. In just a few weeks we will just as many les as the sonics (in roughly 5 years of existence) After we dispatch the Spurs and the Heat.
