    Bledsoe >>>> CP3 defensively.

But the bigger LOL is Kobe Bryant.

Kobe would be the fourth or fifth best perimeter defender on the Spurs and the Spurs are pretty average at defending the perimeter.

Paul was selected because he was second in the league in steals.

Yet, he was first in turnovers. So what good is it to steal the ball if he gives it back with a big red bow tied around it.

At least Kobe didn't beat out Tony Allen this year. But Ibaka is kind of a joke - people put way too much stock in blocked shots.

paul led the leauge in steals, ibaka lead the league in blocks. i guess leaders of those stats deserve 2nd team considerations. but kobe? iguodala, sefolosha, d-wade are all much, much better defenders than kobe, and thats just to name a fewf

Correction, these are the playoff stats. During the regular season, he was first in steals but not second in TOs.

I think he was first in flops.

Ibaka is a good defender but his overall defense is overrated because of his awesome shot blocking ability

Dennis Rodman won first team all D with us and he would rarely go out on his man. He would rebound hunt.

The award can be really screwy and based on rep. and stats. And these just dont tell the whole story. The leader in steals is often a gambling defensive player using the do or die strategy.

Because he is a jumper he does not have to time as well as Duncan. He is very easy to ball fake.

I don't disagree, but at the same time, let's see Bledsoe play 36 mpg and have to create and/or finish damn near every possession during that time and still play dogged on ball defense.

What's the bigger travesty: Duncan never winning DPOY or Bryant being handed All-Defensive team selections annually that he clearly hasn't deserved in more than a few years? He's got to be the most overrated defender of all time. The fact that he made it and Iguodala didn't is a disgrace, just as Ibaka beating out Garnett for 1st team honors is. And Howard over Chandler when Chandler was the DPOY is nonsense.

I think the All D teams and DPOY are voted by different en ies, like one by coaches and one by media.

That shows how good are defense on CP3 was. We lowered his efficiency significantly.

Howard = Overrated, yet freakishly athletic stat

Other stat s without as much star power:

    Z-Bo
    Drew Gooden
    Al Harrington
    Al Jefferson

All defense team is selected by the NBA head coaches.

    DPOY is a media award.
