The Thunder's core of players (Durant, Westbrook, Harden), are an average of about 23 1/2 years old (If you include Ibaka, it's closer to 23).

Can you name the last time a core of players that young won a le?

    I bet you can't. . .because it's never happened.

The youngest core to win a le was the 76-77 Blazers. Their core of Hollins, Walton, and Lucas were an average of 25 years old. If you include Bob Gross to call it a 4 man core, they were 24 1/2 years old on average.

So the Thunder are about a year younger than the youngest team to ever win it. If we're talking about history and whatnot, then that at least benefits us. Older teams tend to win far more often than young ones.

Here's an interesting list of team ages who have won les.

Other than that Portland team, no average team age has won much under 26, and those are all pre-modern era teams.

Nearly every modern era team to win is an average age of 27+. The magic age seems to be 28-29 team average. The Thunder are a ways away from that.

No matter how good the "Big 3" for the Thunder are, they are inexperienced compared to the "Big 3" for the Spurs, and the coaching matchup is no contest at all...Pop is THE BEST coach in the NBA right now.

If OKC wins the WCF, it would have to be considered a HUGE upset.

    That said, Spurs in 5.
