If if if if.
Up 2-0 means very little. Thunder are a tough and resilent team. Scotty Brooks has found a small lineup he can work with. If the Thunder big 3 play like they did in Game 2 then the Spurs will have a tough time stealing a game in okc. Just be prepared that the win streak will end. Book it.
I doubt they will all play as good game 3, spurs win game 3 by a point. Book it
2-0 means alot.
only means we held serve
bold prediction![]()
I wonder if going into OKC down 0-2 would mean anything.
How much further ahead could we be at this point?
it means alot more than that. History proves it means it is likely they win (94% chance)
its means the team can get tested and win.
its means the team can have a losing record from this point on in the series and still win (.40%)
and more stuff im to lazy to write.
Up 2-0 means a load. Just ask OKC.
The stupidest line in all of sports is "the series doesn't start until the home team loses a game".
We are finally going to be tested.
I think you made the mistake of interpreting my post as saying okc wins the series. They wont. I do feel it will be tough to win two at okc.
True. But we get to serve more times than they do.
STFU already.
Thunder are an inferior TEAM.
They aren't polished enough.
Spurs not only are deep, but they play with depth.
People still don't comprehend the sublimeness the Spurs possess.
Only way the Spurs lose is if all 3 of OKC star explode... again... and all three of our stars lay eggs... and even then we have a bench that might be able to pull a rabbit out of the hat.
But for once and for all I hate this ing collective ideology that the Spurs need to fear the Thunder.
STFU already, the Thunder are hapless kids with Talent. Spurs are supremely experienced, courageous men on a mission led by a general.
Seriously the series is over.
Found the stat...at least per whowins.com (whom I'm never heard of before...)
Teams that take a 2-0 lead in the NBA playoffs best of 7 series win .942% of all series. It's far from over, but the best team always wins, and no doubt in my mind the Spurs are the better team.

im fine with 1 win in OKC. OKC almost lost 3 out of the 5 games in OKC in these playoffs, against lesser compe ion than the spurs. The talent on the team is too similar, all 3 are just different sized jump shooters than can occasionally go off on a fast break.
How are they getting better reffing in OKC than they did tonight? They've let us shoot 45% and 55%. They're not winning doing that.
Only means that game 3 is a must win for OKC, if they lose they're done, so I disagree, 2-0 means a lot.
To heck with all this stuff about how OKC is going to get Game 3. Our away record since midseason or so is just ridiculous.
Let's go in there, administer a beatdown in game 3, and shut their crowd up.
2-0 means very little? Please.
We took OKC's best shot tonight and won (Durant 31 pts, Harden 30 pts and Westbrook 27 pts) so this is a good thing going into the pivotal Game 3 fight.
The Hack-A-Splitter thing worked for a while so look for that to continue in Game 3 in OKC, although Brooks might want to use that in moderation as it seemd to mess up OKC's rhythm as well.
I think OKC has somewhat of a chance winning Game 3 IF IF IF
1. Durant explodes for 50 pts, and both Westbrook and Harden contribute at least 30 pts each.
2. Spurs play badly and Parker + Ginobili become non factors.
3. Hack a Splitter / Hack a Duncan strategy working out
4. Green continues to brick 3s
BRING ON SMALL BALL TIME
Game 3 is big, but I think everyone is overblowing the effectiveness of OKC's small lineup. The Spurs have a habit of becoming to conservative and letting big leads shrivel. The Hack-a-Splitter strategy helped kill our momentum on top of that in the end of the third. The Thunder were given a ton of foul calls that stopped play in the beginning of the fourth and slowed our pace.
The way game 3 is called is going to be a huge factor in the outcome of the game. If it is called extremely tight, even if its both ways, then the Thunder have the advantage. They are a far better free throw shooting team than the Spurs. On top of the that, the constant stops in the action hurt the Spurs offense. You could hear Pop yelling in the huddle about pace, pace, pace. Its hard to keep up that fast pace when the whistles are constantly stopping the game.
Thanks for the post, Mr. Internet tough guy.
Agreed I'm hopeful we come away with one win. But I feel because we're up 2-0 people are already saying the series is in the bag and the Thunder already played their best game (tonight) of the series. Well, perhaps the Spurs are due for a terrible game where nobody steps up. You just never know.
I agree. I probably shouldn't have used the wording "very little".
see above comment
Took the words out of my mouth.
OKC now needs to win 4/5 against the hottest team in basketball to win the series. That's a big ask.
I think we'll lose game 3, but game 4 we could take.
It also "only" means that the Thunder must go 4-1 over the next five games in order to advance.
A 2-0 advantage is kind of a big deal
