Idiots can go on and on about how Duncan is soft or hasn't "brought it", but always remember that this dude is playing the Defensive Player Of The Year and he's doing it on not one, but two bad ankles!!

And he's still leading the Spurs in points and rebounds.

And he has no help in the post. Even Ben Wallace said that:
"We've got to make it tough on him," added Detroit center Ben Wallace. "Since he's the only guy in the post, we've got to throw everything at him."

Just imagine how this series would've gone if Tim had been 100% and playing against a Ben Wallace with 2 sprained ankles. Please!

He'd have averaged 30 pts a game at least.

Fools who cannot keep the facts in perspective are just that, fools.

Tim must go all out tonight and the rest of the team, ALL of them, must show up and play their best. I wish and hope for a rout by the Spurs but expect a very close game. IF Tim has been so bad, as some seem to claim, why has he repeatedly had double-doubles in these games? How many of the Pistons have had such consistent double-doubles? I'm curious.

Yea but I am still MAD AT TIM.. Why?

He can do some nice dunks if he WANTED TO....

Maybe his ankles are blown? But still he did a nice hang for Manu.. ok I know the rule about hanging but still...

Remember when Shaq friggin destroyed our rim and the machine at the alamodome ? ROFL.. sorry that's what I want to see.. blood.. ears.. and destroyed pistons from Timmy THE MAN.

TD is the leading rebounder in the series by 4 rebs, he is the 2nd leading scorer in the series behind Billups, he is playing great. His FTs are his only problem, and I think he will him at least 78% of them tonight.

Look, I too would LOVE to see Timmy dunking like a madman, but like I said, 2 hurting ankles.

I don't have to make excuses for him, cause he's still leading his team in points & rebounds (and probably blocks as well), but he's not 100%, no matter how much he or we want him to be. An injury is an injury. Just ask Miami. Just ask Dwyane Wade.

Tim isn't blaming his sore ankles and you shouldnt feel the need to make excuses for him
the facts are with or without sore ankles, if Tim Duncan is aggressive the Spurs stand a better chance winning than they do if Tim decides to be passive

Tim is the leader, the team will follow his lead

The thing is that Wade showed more heart while having a worse injury than Duncan has shown this series. I love Timmy but damn.

Tim is the leader, the team will follow his lead
Hope they shoot 6/17 from the free throw line like he has in the last 65-minutes of game play...

OK OK... sorry, that wasn't my time or place - I realize you're talking from an intangible standpoint and not a stat standpoint... You're right, it *IS* on his shoulders to step up GS21...

Wade may have shown heart, but his injuries were not worse. Pulled muscle was bad timing, and very painful, but hardly on the level of severe sprains. If anything, Wade did more to hurt than help his team. He had a great run in the third q of game 7 that brought them close and completely lost any momentum Eddie Jones had built up.

What excuses? I know it's not been talked about nearly as much as Shaq's thigh contusions, but Tim Duncan is not at 100% - he's been playing on a bad ankle all playoffs, and missed the last month of the regular season for that reason. Further, the other ankle was injured during game 6 of the Sonics series. The Spurs won't make excuses and blame that, but I think it should be noted when all you hear in the media is how soft he is and how much he chokes and how he's not leading his team. He's not putting up the numbers he used to - but he's played damn fine for not being anywhere near to 100%.

The fact he's played through without complaint is testament to his heart and guts. That's all we are saying.
