I don't think so.
Every year, UT is just a good QB away from being a national le contender.
Seems strange though that everyone else in the conference has no problem finding one.
What do you Longhorns think? If UT has 3 or more losses do you think his job is in jeapardy? He can certainly recruit, but with all the talent Texas brings in you would think they would be a perrenial top 10 team.

Probably has a lot to do with his coddling, wouldn't you agree?
Mackbrownturd got does coddle way more than the above average coddler. I think in college you can get away with it if you have pro caliber players all over the field.
It just comes back to bite these kids in the ass when they turn pro and don't get the coddle treatment any more.
Imo.
Such a shame.
I think after awhile, pro caliber QBs recognize the fate of Mack Brownturd git coddled QBs such as Chrissy Simms and realized they will be doomed in the pros if they play for Mack Brownturd git.
This is why Mack Brownturd git is in search of a real QB.
no. he makes the program more $$$$$$$$$$ than any other in the nation.
he's staying as long as he wants.
NO
Mack is only in trouble if he is caught in bed with a live boy or a dead girl. Other than that, he is untouchable until he chooses to retire.
Have any of you looked at who Texas gets at QB? We have coming in one of the top QBs in the country this fall and we have committed the top QB in the nation.
If he coddles QBs too much, it doesn't seem to affect our recruiting of the position.
how is it that a 5 star QB like Garrett Gilbert melted down so badly, leaving UT stuck with two 3 star QBs battling it out for who sucks more?
Well then, as Blake said, if it doesn't affect recruiting, it sure as affects performance. It still baffles me how Garrett Gilbert could come into a BCS le game against a Nick Saban defense as a true freshman and play well but have a disastrous season the first year he's got a full off season as starter.
The longhorns get pretty much their pick at QB's (and at any position for that matter), they just are terrible at developing them. Heck even Garrett Gilbert was the #2 QB by ESPN and look how he turned out. Not succeeding at QB is on the coaches for not developing the talent.
they get 5 star QBs regularly, but it's not like they have a stable full of them.
No way a 4 or 5 star wants to risk sitting on the bench behind another 5 star qb when they can be guaranteed a starting gig somewhere else.

2 of the 3 QB's on the current roster were 4 star, with 5 star Swoopes on the way next year, many kids in texas love texas and just wait for the offer (Daje Johnson), so many kids would take a UT scholly to be the backup over say a starting gig at Texas Tech, SMU, Baylor, TCU, etc.
Out of all the QBs Texas has gotten Only Gilbert has sucked, that is saying something.
Even the kids we have had that transferred have done well when they left.
Major Applewhite
Chris Simms
Vince Young
Colt McCoy
*Garrett Gilbert*
1 out of 5 that sucked, I'll take that any day.
no doubt the track record is pretty good, but in the present the QB position is pretty bleak. Put in RG3, Landry Jones, Klein, Weeden, Pachall, the list goes on and on, and the longhorns win 10+. With the best facilities in CFB and the same starred recruits as some of those QBs listed, there's no excuse to not have at least average QB play
imagine swoopes in a wishbone with UT's running back trio.
*fap fap fap*
When was Gilbert recruited...09? Why has it taken so long to get another 5 star qb for the Dubai of college football?
And at Rivals, McCoy and Ash are both 3 star QBs.
lmao Chris Simms
For UT, all five should be next to spectacular. 2 spectaculars out of 5 with just one championship is underwhelming, imo.
Chrissy Simms
cried his way out of the NFL because Gruden wouldn't coddle him like Mack Brown did
Outside of Oklahoma, Chris was superior to any QB in the Conference when he was here including everyone at Tech.
Chris had a better career than any QB in the history of aggsy.
Chris had a promising career until his appendicitis, after that he went down hill.
I know you idiots didn't just diss the Major who as a freshmen was Big 12 offensive player of the year....As a FRESHMEN
One Championship is the same amount as Oklahoma and It's one more than Tech will ever have and 1 more than aggsy has had in the last 60 years.
And lets not forget that Texas was screwed over in 2008 or they would likely had two.
Crofl.
please explain how Simms was superior to that noodle arm Kliff Kingsbury.
That should be really good.
even if UT made it, they weren't going to beat Florida. And lets not forget that Texas was screwed over in 2008 or they would likely had two.
lol Blake Gideon
It's remarkable how defensive UT nuthuggers get about Mack Brown's coddling, tbh.
I wish Vince would get a starting gig again so the nuthuggers in the nfl forum would come back.
Listening to RaZon talk about being a professional gambler is the only thing going right now.....![]()
That's a good note about Applewhite.
He apparently didn't get the full Mack Brown coddle effect, which might be why he actually showed some stones and saved the conference le game for the horns after Chrissy had thrown 4 picks.
I guess the good thing about Swoops is UT finally has a black QB assuming he stays committed. All of Mack Brown's white QBs have been pussies. VY was coddled but at least he had guts.
