Might as well give them a chance I would think.
Any chance the the Spurs can bring any of the draft prospects Lorbeck, Ryan Richards or Davis Bertans.
Might as well give them a chance I would think.
We can't sign both Diaw and Lorbek unless one of them takes the LLE at $4m/2years. Obviously Diaw won't take that, and Lorbek could get more in Europe so it's unlikely.
Ryan Richards is garbage. He'll never make it in to the NBA
lorbek for sure, richards gtfo
diaw it depends on how much, he didnt do much in the wcf man....
Is Lorbek worth a damn? Anyone have any decent highlights? The ones I have seen are not impressive at all. He seems like a slower, less physical Tiago with a jumper. I hope I'm wrong.
Until Bonner is off this roster and until such time as Splitter grows a pair, the Spurs need some young, kick-ass bigs - not anymore soft Euros.
No more Euro Stash! Manu was the exception for stashing players overseas who could ball at a high level in the NBA. Keep Splitter, but we need some a player that's in the league. No more OJT in Tim's twilight. Save them for the Post Duncan Era.
Why the are people calling Richards garbage when he hasn't played a minute of NBA basketball?
Because he's playing in an obscure league significantly worse than the D-League, and he's not dominating there.
He's still really young, so it's possible he can turn it around, but he doesn't appear to be progressing like you'd expect if he were going to develop into an elite player.
If by some miracle Bonner is dumped then you can bring in Lorbek.
They're the same player except Lorbek can actually play a smudge of defense. Plus he's a legit big big man.
I actually haven't heard his defense is an improvement at all, but he does have something of a post game on offense, which would be a nice wrinkle.
His defense is allegedly a step up from Bonner's.
Like in the Somewhat Diaw range.
I wish the Spurs would get Lorbek and Sanikidze to be a smallball 4.
Laugh at VS all you want, but he plays with a passion like he actually gives a damn, which the Spurs need more of.
It's like the kind of defense Bonner was playing in the regular season, when he had some of us thinking he had turned a corner. Also, he's not afraid of contact, and he can make shots that aren't taken from beyond the arc.
Diaw's still better. But there might be some team out there willing to pay more than MLE money for him. He's a skilled big, and teams routinely overpay for skilled bigs.
Bonner isn't going anywhere. Keep dreaming
