If you check realgm forums, there is a thread led "did the refs take over game six?". The thread has a poll and has 12 pages of commentary from predominantly nonbiased fans from other teams. , there are even Laker fans who aren't looking to troll (its harder to troll on realgm) that share the same sentiment with us, be it strongly or weakly. According to realgm, fans from all over the NBA agree that game 6 is one of the worst officiated games in this postseason. I can't say I disagree. Give credit to the Thunder for fighting back from an 18 point lead (and winning), but it's all too impossible to come back on a team that goes to the line time and time again, ing up any momentum for the Spurs. The worst part about playing a team like the Thunder is that an opposing team cannot and will not be allowed to defend them physically. In essence, the officiating mediates and controls how aggressive defenses are. Given how ridiculously athletic the Thunder are, it's impossible to defend them without having either a foul called, or them scoring. Watching how reliant this Thunder team was on officiating to help them win games was worse than watching Dirk seemingly get every call back in the day, literally (no offense to those mavfans who I'm cool with on this site). Anyway, just wanted to post this thread for reassurance purposes. I know I sometimes and gripe about officiating, , I have to admit I do that a lot. That said, after a certain point during the second half, I figuratively took my homer glasses off, and just remained as a regular basketball fan. We got screwed tonight, bottomline. Anyone that's going to disagree with that is either a furious spur hater or a thunder homer.

PS: Can someone get on realgm and link the thread, I'm on my iPhone.

I was just on RealGM reading this as well. There are even Non-Spurs fans who said the 4th quarter was clearly bogus and the refs handed every call to the Thunder. , even some Thunder fans say it took the fun out of winning that way....

Yeah. The biggest problem I have with the officiating is how inconsistent it was. Here you have Tony getting physically draped driving in the lane and no whistle is blown. If you even so slightly attemtped to guard Durant, Harden, or Westbrook, a foul was called.

Speaking from just a regular NBA fan perspective, this is one of the worst officiated games in the last 15 years or so that I've followed the NBA closely.

+1. This game to me is right up there with the 06' Finals and all the whistle D-Wade got against Dallas, and the 02' Conference Finals where Kobe knocked out Bibby right in front of the ref in Game 6 and NOTHING was called. I think the Lakers got about 25 FT's in the 4th quarter alone that game. Crazy....

...interesting. I REALLY hope this gets talked about to the extent that it deserves. But I doubt it will happen.

And keep a close eye on tomorrow's game...

the only fans on that forum that usually troll spursfans are the duncan haters, especially the insecure fans who are balls deep with kobe and kg in their asses always bringin duncan up for comparisons to boost their own player....

blowing leads is nothing unusual in the nba anyway, its when the games are so close that ur trying to make one last run that they stop you from doing it, its like the refs penalize you for not protecting a lead and wont give you any benefit of the doubt calls from there on

The refs killed momentum…its that easy and so ing sad….the greatest power forward to ever play had a chance for a game 7 and it was stolen from him…it’s a ing crime….we as spurs fans will never enjoy nba royalty again…..we were blessed by the lottery gods…but I have enjoyed every moment of it..from heartaches to triumphs…just didn’t see it ending by a ing whistle….it’s a dam shame.

I don't think the game was necessarily called fairly, but I don't think it was rigged. I thought a lot of the calls were "some refs call it, some refs don't". I would have preferred Harden not flop his way through that Manu moving screen, but sadly that's how it went down.

the only one that upset me was Kawhi getting hit in the head.

None of this means , just ask Sacramento. All this referee bull is just sour grapes, and it's not hard to find people who think refs are crooked. Everyone hates the officials.

The refs didn't let Westbrook waltz from coast to coast untouched for a one handed jam. There's plenty to blame before the refs even get considered.

It's impossible to guard Westbrook with his athleticism and the officiating not allowing any sort of physical defense.

You can't sit there and lie to me that he didn't get more respect than Tony Parker at the end of the game. I specifically remember a sequence when Parker was driving to the basket and was literally giving a free ride to Sefalosha or Westbrook, I can't remember who. On the other side, here you have Westbrook driving to the rim getting what are legit phantom calls. Also, at all those fouls called on jumpshots, especially that late one involving Manu. At a certain point yesterday in the game when the spurs were down by 4, I came to terms this team would not get over the hump. Reasons why? The Spurs had to literally play perfect flawless basketball down the stretch to beat this Thunder team. Factor in the officiating, yeah, no chance whatsoever.

lol, one play? The kevin durant 3 at the end of the half was not a gift from the refs either but we're not saying that the refs are accountable for every single point the thunder scored

this "too smart to believe league and refs are corrupt" role you are playing is making you sound like a complete idiot

This is true, one is blowing the damn 15 pt lead fully in the 3rd Q, we can start there. The lack of stops is another, never in this series did they get key stops! D was atrocious late.
