I don't see why we would want him...we have a log jam at the 3 unless we plan on trading Jackson.
I know he recently said he wanted to play for the spurs. What would the FO need to do to make it happen? (Assuming it is even possible).

Maybe a sign and trade for bonner and Blair?
Don't want him with Kawhi's incredible season and with the cost, not to mention still having Jack for another year of physical D and timely shooting.
dont need another frechmen on the team, we already got 2 and both havnt delivered
There's no bigger fan of Batum than me. However unless he grew to 7-feet over this offseason, the Spurs have "bigger" offseason priorities - pun intended. Besides, he's not worth the 10-12 million he may be seeking.
Don't want him (I think he's overrated), don't need him (see: Kawhi, Jackson).
Kawhi and Jax make him redundant -- we need capable bigs.
He could be amazing cuz Manu ain't getting younger, and neither is Jack. If the series proved anything it's that Durant and co. will be dominating the West for years to come, so we need young talent at the guard/forward positions and right now all we have that fits this mold is Kawhi. Kawhi/Batum can work together.
Agree.
If we already decided that Anderson can't be our future at the wing and after the Green outcome (very good player in regular season and play off but not enough long and talented nor experienced, till now, for the Thunders) we have, first of all, decide for someone that could fill in the near future the Manu's role.
In next free agent market we can't target any big better, for our system, than the two we already have rights for signing (I mean Diaw and Lorbek).
If we can sign both plus Batum we could quite call it a season.
The point is that for signing Batum we need to be creative with Portland...
If Batum is clear in his will to join us for a potential "french connection" in SA (and I see nothing bad in this; Parker, Diaw and Batum are, imho, the three best frech players in the nba, Noah included) one way could be sign and trade Green to Portland for him or simply trade his rfa rights for the rfa rights of Batum (if that's possible).
Green is one of the most improved players in this nba year and should have more than decent appeal...for Portland better this than just a year of Batum...
n.b. not my favourite optron, but if the Spurs decide to totally rebuild, one way could be to trade Parker to Portland for their draft choices (6 + 11) plus something else (like some other future draft picks).
Good for us 'cause Parker is not gonna have an higher market value than the one he has today (one of the candidates for mvp).
The good for Portland could be, given their good salary situation, to have the same french connection there (Diaw could probably be the one to join them and Batum could be amazed with his friend Parker coming to Portland...
Add Alridge, Matthews and some other free agent and they became instant contenders).
Even if there WAS room? 0%
He also disappears when the team relies on him. Why do Spurs want another Hedo?
SPURS should try to trade for Tony Allen type of player by using Blair + Neal and trade for 2nd tier big like Ilyasova using Splitter + Jack expiring contract. Whether to resign Diaw depend on the price.
SPURS then bring in De Colo to replace Neal and cut Bonner who will be replaced by Lorbek. Maybe SPURS can trade for Omri Casspi as well as his value is all time low
not sure if you can have enough of these players at this moment...they even can play together at 2-3-4
would love to get him!
The chance to get Batum equals whatever the chance is that Duncan and Ginobili both retire, the Spurs offer an eight-figure deal per year, and the Blazers don't match. If it's not 0%, it's pretty damn close to it.
