As a former Suns fan, located in Oklahoma City this was a rather enjoyable series. I used to watch the stronger, tougher Spurs throw the weaker Suns around and go on to win NBA Championships. Now I've obviously dropped the Suns for my hometown team. But what I saw in this series was the same thing I used to see, only this time the Spurs were the smaller and slow team, and now THEY'RE complaining about the officiating.

I thought the officiating sucked in general and, if anything, often favored the home team. But it was very inconsistent. But officiating is not why my Thunder lost the first two games and it's not why they WON the next 4. It does not benefit the league for either Spurs or Thunder to move on. Both are smaller market teams. Parker is as fun to watch as Durant. Ginobili can do some amazing things. There's just no motivation for some grand scheme to plot the team with the smallest market to the NBA Finals! lmao.

But as for the match up - When I watch the Spurs now - they're not as physical as they used too be. They now have better shooters, but for Godsake they play Boris Diaw! He'll never be a serious NBA player or great defender - he'll always be overweight and out partying. Duncan is in a state of decline, but even with all of that I honestly thought this Spurs team was one of the best Pop's had (at least offensively) but in the end the Thunder are younger, faster, stronger and more hungry.

Do yourself a favor and don't get caught up in the loser argument about officiating. By the way, after the game tonight the fans applauded the Spurs team and Tim Duncan is a class act. And Ginobili, while his flopping is annoying - is a great compe or and I often refer to Hardin as the black Ginobiliiiii

Anyway, GO THUNDER - SWEEP THE HEALTICS!

    NICE TRY, BUT FAIL.

Most NBA fans are probably located in cities and states with no NBA team and yes they will become fans of a team that inhabits their home state when they get one. The sad part is I have to explain this.

Anyway, I'm out of this den of suicide and depression.

The class with San Antonio stops at Tim Duncan.

Yes, it does benefit the league for the Thunder to move on. They are both small local market teams, but the Thunder are probably extremely popular to the casual fan, and they Harden and Durant in particular are 2 very popular stars in the game today. Durant is one of the NBA's poster boys, he's a top 2 player in the world and I'm sure his sells well. Going to the finals only increases all of that.

Obviously, the Lakers represent a much bigger market with a few stars of their own but you can't influence one team to beat another that is significantly better. It's the same reason why the Knicks didn't beat the Heat, they simply can't compete.
