Still searching for an NBA franchise willing to guarantee a contract for next season, seven-time All-Star Tracy McGrady worked out for the San Antonio Spurs this week at the team's practice facility, league sources told Yahoo! Sports.

Only reason Spurs would consider T-Mac, is if they intend on using Jackson's expiring to improve their front-court situation.

Leonard's minutes are expected to increase over 32 MPG anyway, which makes the back-up SF spot not as vital.

Could also mean that pop intends to play a ton of small ball with most of Jacksons minutes at the 4.

I'd sign him all day long. We've got plenty of youth on the wings. A stable vet that can do some teaching, and that can step in if needed, is very desirable.

Yeah the only reason I can think of the Spurs working out all these 2s and 3s is if they are planning on making a deal.

Yes, please. So Jax could probably be moved, I wonder who could that be. (Tyrus Thomas?)

If I had to choose between him and Jax. It's Jax all day... Hopefully it doesn't mean a trade that would involve Jackson is in the works.

Damn, that would be pretty sweet to get McGrady for the veteran's minimum to use in small-ball lineups (and hopefully take Bonner off the floor). I hope the Spurs can sign him.

No, I think a McGrady signing would just replace Byers on the roster. If anybody is getting moved though it's probably Gary Neal.

McGrady sucks. He hasn't been relevant in years. If we are going to get an older player who's athleticism is gone, it should be on a big, who can at least play physical. McGrady plays small forward, a position that requires competing against the best athletes in basketball. He's not a good enough shooter from outside to make up for his lack of athleticism. He will fail on our roster.

The majority of SpursTalk approves of this signing. Front office, you may consider this an approval to sign the 6'8" human victory cigar.

McGrady could also play some point like he did in Detroit. I'm failing to see the negative in signing the guy to a minimum deal if he agrees.

True, but I don't really see the need unless we just get littered with injuries to our PGs.

With Parker, Mills, De Colo, Joseph, and Neal, we already have 4.5 PGs.

Still, if he wants to sign for the vet min, I'd be glad to see what he has left in the tank and expand the SF rotation a bit. If nothing else, would at least make the season a bit more entertaining.

    I don't want him.

Spurs FO only focus should be to improve Spurs defense. McGrady won't help in that area.

Personally, I'd like to see the Spurs get past the first round of the playoffs.

    But maybe that's just me.

They should offer him a deal and then at the very last second when it seemed all but impossible to lose it, rip it away from him. LET'S SEE HOW YOU LIKE IT, YOU SON OF A !!!!!!!
