Worst trade ever?

New Jersey Nets small forward Gerald Wallace has opted out of the final year of his contract, according to multiple reports.
Wallace had until Wednesday at midnight ET to decide on his $9.5 million player option for 2012-13.
Wallace now becomes an unrestricted free agent. He had said he wasn't going to play on a one-year deal.
General manager Billy King said Wallace deserves a multiyear deal and wants to re-sign him.
Wallace, 29, averaged 15.2 points, 6.8 rebounds and 3.1 assists in 16 games after being traded to the Nets.
King dealt his team's first-round pick in the 2012 draft (No. 6 overall) to the Portland Trail Blazers in a highly scrutinized move for Wallace.
Thanks for the #6 pick Nyets!

Stupid trade, but it's not like you guys are drafting Kevin Durant with the #6 pick ......![]()
Portland is to drafting well is ________ to _________
you are to comedy.
How did you do that name change thing?
I pm'd kori, I didn't realize it changed until just now![]()
Favors, Harris, two first round picks, cash for Deron Williams.
Yeah that one too. But the one for Wallace might be worse because they gave up their only asset that "might" have given Orlando thought of trading Dwight to Brooklyn.
Like I kept saying that was a haul and should of been what CP3 should of got in the open market
The Nets have by far the worst management in the NBA. I thought Babby/Blanks was bad but they're nothing like the Nets.
Well they were desperate to make a team worth watching before they got to Brooklyn. They got DWill, and would have most likely have gotten Dwight if he didn't opt in. They took a risk and failed, but they would look like geniuses if they succeeded.
That being said, the Gerald Wallace deal was ing re ed.
They blew all their assets on D-Will without having a long term commitment for him. That's what happens when you let a woman play GM![]()
I don't know why people are wetting themselves over this unless they think Wallace for the 6th pick is dumb because it's likely Wallace signs with the Nets. So if they keep him and the Dwight move is still on the table, they start to look pretty smart.
I'd take the 6th pick in a loaded draft over an aging Gerald Wallace, especially as a young rebuilding team like the Nets are.
Why the would he play for a ty team like the Nets? A little more money in return for playing for an epically awful team? There has to be some decent team out there with some cap space.
They won't be a young rebuilding team if they land Dwight though. They don't want to be that. It's a gamble, I agree, but a little too premature to get riled up. Landing a guy like Dwight instantly changes things.
Dwight, Deron & Wallace is actually a pretty unique combo and has potential to be defensive beast.
Because money is typically the deciding factor, especially for mid guys like Wallace that don't make the money of a Kobe, Bron...
Plus, like I said, the chance to make more money and play with Deron & Dwight?
He's gonna play for the Nets because they're gonna pay him WAAAAAY more than he'll get on the open market. Given the new CBA, a Gerald Wallace-type player at his age is gonna have a rough time getting more than the MLE from any team other than the Nets.
Same reason why I see Nash resigning in Phoenix. They're prolly gonna offer him 8-9mil a year while no other team would even consider offering him more than an MLE-type deal.
My aunt would become my uncle if she landed a penis. Until she does, she's still my aunt.
Sure, which is why I said its slightly premature![]()
Wallace will suck once he gets older..tosb coming soon
Draft not that loaded as many say it is.
