That's actually not correct -- our boy Bateer has a ring from '03, and he was NOT on the playoff roster that year. The Spurs made a big deal out of having him out to center court to accept his ring when he came in with Toronto in 03-04.
So, props to Mike Wilks, Linton Johnson III, and Sean Marks on their hard-earned bling-bling.
As far as I know U don't have to be in the PO roster to get the ring.

Not positive but I think the active roster guys get a slightly different ring...but there are a crap load of other people who qualify for a similar ring.
I know a partial owner of the SPURS. Not Holt. He now has 3 championship rings. If David has any ownership interest, he will get a ring.
You don't have to be on the playoff roster to get a ring. All 3 guys on IR will get a ring -- Marks, Linton, Wilks. Pop said during the season that if they won a le that they'd find a way to get Malik a ring. Basically anyone can get a ring that the Spurs feel should get one.
