Maybe I'm the only one who here who loved the idea of the belts. I thought it was cool when they brought them out opening night. I was really impressed at seeing such an original and creative way to hype your crowd after a le.

I think the thing with the belts was kind of like an "f-you" to the league...to the critics, to the people who made it a summer of "laker talk." By the stories and headlines throughout the summer most wouldn't have known the Detroit Pistons won the le in 2004. Opening night the guys ran out and ripped off their warm-up jackets and all had belts on (at least members from our 2004 team). I thought it was awesome and was going nuts when I saw it, plus I'm a wrestling fan. Though to me it was kind of a y and sweet thing to do, it's saying...we are the champs...and you gotta beat us, so talk all you want, but we'll be walking around with our belts. Very cool idea. I had my belt with my tonight, it will be hanging around in my room until hopefully June 2006.
Ben and Sheed usually always had their belts, but Sheed made his more visible, Ben brought it out during big games a lot. Both are big wrestling fans. Never seen the other guys with theirs past opening night
