Since Tim's previous agent, Lon Babby, went to work for the Suns a few years ago, he's been without one. Does anyone know if Tim hired an agent for this round of talks or is he going it alone?
That's pretty damn good news for the Spurs. It sounds like Duncan is going to be flexible with his salary. If the Spurs can settle with the Diaw, Green, Lorbek, De Colo, Mills, etc. first before Duncan, they may be able to just give Duncan whatever is left over.
This also could indicate that Duncan will be very involved in the decision making this summer.

If tyrus Thomas and Calderon are released I'd bet that would be FAs A and B FO the Spurs.
for flexibility, if he only wants two years, they can give him 3 with the third partially guaranteed if they need to keep his annual salary down for cap/financial reasons.
That is great news. I hope Tim plays another 3 years in the silver and black.
God Bless Tim Duncan
If Duncan takes less so they can bring in guys like De Colo Calderon and such, his jersey should just go up now. Screw waiting till he's retired.
Sounds like some bad juju to me
yo juju Clown!!
Meh, I dont see this meaning too much. Unless TD is going to take significantly less money than what is expected, I really don't see the timing of when he signs as consequential. There is still that small matter of the caphold, which prevents the Spurs from signing players using cap space and THEN signing TD via Bird Rights. Same limitations apply, whether TD signs now or later tbh. It just shows TD is willing to be a team play, but TD has always been that since day 1.
I read this recently:
It looks like Jim Tanner is now the agent for all of Lon Babby's former clients.Jeremy Lin has a new leading agent: Jim Tanner, who is a partner at the prestigious Williams & Connolly law firm in Washington, D.C.
Lin, who was previously solely repped by Roger Montgomery, also has a new publicist, Meredith Geisler, who works with Tanner's clients, some of whom are future Hall of Famers. Tanner currently represents Tim Duncan, Ray Allen, Grant Hill, Shane Battier, Hedo Turkolgu, Marvin Williams, Brandan Wright, Zaza Pachulia, Tony Battie, Luke Ridnour, Royal Ivey and draft prospect John Henson.

Tim getting desperate tbh...
tbh though, I bet after getting back to the WCF he would like to have another shot with that roster...
Same firm Babby was with.

There's no one like him. Always sacrificing for the team.![]()
They should be two of them up there, remove Avery's imo.
Awesome news... can't wait to see what the FO has in store.
So Duncan Pop and everyone is wrong on wanting Avery up there?
Buck Harvey mentioned couple of months ago that Duncan did not have an agent anymore.
Tim Duncan has already been my hero since I was 9 years old,
& every year I find something else to be in awe of.
