I think it's pretty dumb too. We shall see if it gets better.
Engadget review - apparently the 2.3 and up is a lie, the app only works with jelly bean devices:
http://www.engadget.com/2012/07/06/g...exus-q-review/There's no option for lossless playback. There's no DLNA support, no support for playing media from external storage and no way to fill that 16GB of flash with music.
I wouldn't say it's a lie since that same article expressly states that 2.3+ will be fixed before they start shipping. There is plenty to make fun of without being deceptive.
Ahh ok, didn't read the whole thing closely. Weird that it didn't work after they said it would at the I/O
I really hope, for the nexus q's sake, that a developer who is much more creative than I will be able to figure out something cool to do with this and hack the out of it (and that they will firesale it). (Cyanogen got one at I/O and has already stated on google plus that he is beginning to hack the out of it, so maybe there is hope).
Doesn't it have an Aurdino bootloader in it? Even so, $300 is just way way too much, mainly b/c of the other much, much cheaper solutions that do just about everything. I'm really surprised at how this turned out.
Yeah, I just bought a samsung smart TV (to be delivered sunday), but I am rethinking this. I think I might just buy a dumb tv and get the vizio costar when it comes out. It is a new google TV box that looks damn good and doubles as an onlive streamer.
Oh and all for only $99
