Who would you rather have on your team? I think D-Will would be a good fit for a team like the Lakers, but on SA he would probably disrupt chemistry and be a liability on defense.

Deron Williams is the more naturally gifted player but that I'd rather have Patty for the Spurs' system.
Anyone who actually watches basketball and doesn't just look at stats would choose Mills. If Patty played as many minutes as Deron and jacked up as many shots, he would put up similar numbers. Williams is a cancer and a defensive liability. I also doubt he could fill the roll that Mills plays in Pop's offense. Patty shot 43% from 3 last year which is higher than Williams has ever shot in any season.

Patty Mills. He's cheaper and a better fit for the Spurs. Small sample size but he scored 34 points and got 12 assists against Golden State as a starter while Williams can't even make the Nets a winning team.
I'll bump this thread when Patty averages 30 and 9 while Williams leads the Nets to nowhere.

Are you crazy? Is this even a legit question? Patty has elite Tony Parker-like speed with Nash-like shooting ability, nor does he have the type of unsavory character displayed by that classless coach killer Deron.
Let's not forget he's a better fit in the Spurs system, and a perfect backup to Tony - not to mention he makes less money as well, which is always a plus.

I'd take Patty Mills on towel waving ability alone. This is an underestimated skill that I expect to be added to John Hollinger's PER formula any day now. By summer's end we will know how many towel waves are needed per game to ensure victory.

Williams is the worst defensive player in the league. His Q2BX Per 48 Minutes rating was -4.4478. He's no LeBron.
