Why? This country will survive Barack Obama.

So ok... someone got butthurt because Obama was "disrespectful" towards a jew, and all of a sudden he's not voting for him.

I like that he said we're going to see "the real" Obama on his second term.

    Even he knows he's winning.

Likely not. It will just mean four more years just like the previous twelve, eight of which were led by a President he thinks belongs on Mt. Rushmore.

Worse would be Obama losing, because it would cut the number of blogs he can plagiarize from in half.

Would you like to make a bet, say for a beer at Scott's bar, that Obama will will win the "chosen people's" vote in November?

Why is it that the chosen people always vote democratic in presidential elections?

So, if I understand this, you're saying there is no appreciable difference between what President Obama has done for the past 4 years and what a President Romney would do over the next 4 years?

To an extent, I agree. Much of what either of them do is going to be dependent on who controls Congress. With any luck, Republicans will take both Houses and you'll get to witness the difference, first hand.

If Romney wins it will be because independants we swayed to him. if the nuts on the right radically pull the country hard right then the dems will regain the Senate and House in 2014... then you will have a moderate in the White House and a dem majority in Congress... wouldn't that be great for you guys!

you will be disappointed when Romney moves back to the middle and will want to compromise with the minority Democrats on a regular basis..book it.

If Romney wins and Republicans take Congress AND the economy improves, you'll see 8 years of Romney and a Republican-controlled Congress.

Wouldn't that be great for you guys?!?

I won't presume to think for scott; normally, he's more judicious and sophisticated with his jabs. Perhaps he was just drinking the profits last night.

    I wouldn't be so sure...

Ron Paul got his "Audit the Fed" bill passed and The Tea Party is making gains across the country. There may not be much stomach for compromise, over the next four years. If Dewhurst loses, all moderate Republicans will need to do is look to Texas and see their fate.

so then we go back t gridlock..the minority dems in the senate will block all republican legislation...

I think that's what everyone wants, don't you?

The more I think about it, the happier I am with the prospect of our choices for the election. Just like in 2008, the most centrist Republican is the nominee. Like McCain, Romney will say whatever it is he believes will get him elected, including extremist ideas endorsed by bumpkin nutjobs preparing their assault rifles for an Obamapocalypse. Deep down, though, he's a centrist who understands the practical limitations of the presidency, and doesn't really believe most of that nonsense that he has to say.

Palin/Bachman/Gingrich/Perry all genuinely believe and dedicate themselves to the conservative cause. Romney has some conservative leanings, but if elected would ultimately take the same middle-of-the-road approach (Romneycare, etc) as he did while he was governor.

Obviously, Obama is the preferable choice, but having Romney as president wouldn't be all that different . I find it quite wonderful that in two straight presidential elections, the most conservative, bat candidates the Republican party has fielded have been destroyed in the primaries. What a ringing endorsement of the conservative platform by its faithful.

You better not mention this to the obama haters... Romney is just paying lip service to the extreme right now.. his past is pretty clear how he will govern.. he's smart enough to know that he can't go 'bachman' if he the Senate and House..
