Anyone else think that his injury may have been a blessing in disguise, as far as the long term goes? If he had a really good playoff series, which he was very capable, he would have had some really good offers in the offseason. Now that he sat the whole time, he may have reduced his overall value, thus allowing the Spurs to re-sign him at a reasonable price?

We owe something to the new CBA as well -- even if Devin had a brreakout year the most any team could have offered him this summer is the MLE -- which the Spurs can match or exceed. The loophole used by Gil Arenas and Boozer to bolt their teams has been closed.
