Who has snatched defeat from the clutches of victory better than anybody else, iyo?

The few that immediately come to mind are:

    -2004 Yankees
-2008 NBA Finals Game 4 (ugh)
    -2011 NBA Finals Game 2
-1992/93 Houston Oilers vs Buffalo Bills
-Game 1 of MEM/LAC series this past year
-Jan Van De Velde's EPIC British Open catastrophe in '99
    -2000 Blazers in Game 7 4th quarter
-Ammo and Gonzaga choking against UCLA

so many others to think of...

Mavs in 2006. Yeah, they had some calls go against them, you couldn't get within 5 feet of Wade without the refs blowing a whistle, but at the same time, they were up 2.9 games to nothing and can't blame the refs for the Heat getting back into that series and eventually winning it. They showed a lack of poise and composure. They weren't the first team that got hosed on a few calls in a game and they let it affect the rest of the series and undo their vice-grip on it.

In 2007 they absolutely should have been able to handle it. A 67-win team shouldn't be losing to a .500 team period. They were so pathetic that it technically doesn't count as a choke since they never had a series lead.

15 point lead heading into the 4th of Game 3 with a 2-0 series lead cant be blamed on the refs. They were clearly the better team that series and choked it away. Especially Dirk who inexplicably deferred to Terry in that Game 3 4th quarter and at other crucial points in that series. Bron and the Heat returned the favor in 2011 though. The Rangers should probably be up there as well tbh.

My only proud memory of being a Bills fan (other than owning Marino's ass his entire career). I was only 9 at the time, and was too stupid to turn off the TV (thankfully).

Now that I'm older and bitter, I'd have shut the tube off at the end of the 1st had it been this past year

Getting a flag taken away from your user name, then posting your stash of she-male porn was the number one sports related collapse in history IMO. Happened in '12 IIRC.

Memphis' performances in Game 1 and Game 7 this past season are the two biggest chokejobs I've ever seen in all my years as an NBA fan, tbh.... Game 1, they let my Clippers mount the biggest comeback win in NBA history IN Memphis, and in Game 7, they lost to mainly the Clippers' bench also in Memphis....

OJ Mayo completely vanished, Rudy Gay looked horrible, and Lionel Hollins got outcoached by Vnny dl Ngr....

Another huge collapse was when Mike Dumbleavy told ing Daniel Ewing to guard Raja Bell, and the rest was history, tbh....

Also, last year's Rd Sx come to mind, as do the 1995 Angls....

You rank it higher or lower than your collapse? You were such a calm and collected cat, untouchable, just talked basketball etc. Now youre an angry little guy.

Actually, tbh imho, your original sentiment didn't make any sense. To say fkla collapsed would imply he ever had something built in the first place. I'd actually say fkla has improved. At least now hes got the shemale thing to set him apart from the other hundreds of ty gnsf on this site.

sons even though the teams mentioned above are more deserving, I think we should also nominate the 2011-12 LSU football team for Les Miles single handedly destroying any chance of their undefeated season and National Championship. choosing to go down with his pride, his ego, and his sexual obsession with Jordan Jefferson rather than doing what was best for the team in playing Jarrett Lee.

sons let us also not forget about the epic collapse of the Los Angeles Lakers after team leader Shaq left them with a glorified role player in Kobe Bryant to take over leadership.

Shaq left the Lakers after leading them to the NBA finals 4 out of his last 5 seasons (winning 3 of them) and Kobe Bryant went on to lead the Lakers to an overall record of 121-125 including not even making the playoffs in one of those seasons and getting stomped out in the first round in the other two seasons. then of course we all know how the rest of that story went. Kobe cried to be traded, Stern sent him Gasol, the Lakers immediately hit a 10-game winning streak and became le contenders again overnight.

manchester United 1-6 defeat in the derby match to their rival manchester city last season, it just counted one game out of the total 38 of the season but it turned out to make a HUGE difference came the last round, where manchester city claimed the premier league le on goal difference (points tied)
