Everything I have looked at recently and didn't buy is showing up in ads everywhere I go on the internet...I guess it's google that's tracking it...I went to a window companies website last week (I'm adding on to my house) and suddenly I'm getting banner ads from them and line item ads from them in news articles I'm reading...also doing it on amazon searches...I was looking for iphone cases and suddenly I'm getting ads for that...looked at something else on amazon last week and got a ing email from them today advertising that exact item...just a little...unsettling....

you can "limit" ad tracking in iOS as well, but it's not a cure all:

This is actually pretty standard behavioral retargeting in the online ad industry now. Tags are served to you when you browse certain sites, and then ads can be retargeted to you based on your browsing history. Nobody is watching you or reviewing your individual browsing history, it's all automated. But I can still understand the discomfort people have with the fact that this can even be done without them knowing it.

Yeah, I was looking at Halloween costumes online and saw the same thing. I just wish they'd give me more than the same few ads. If you're going to target, at least hit me up with four or five ads
