It is a mixed bag, but you are more right than many would be comfortable with.
I think a lot of genetic technology and new information technology that analyses drugs and their interaction with the human body will make a lot of the old fashioned clinical trials seem crude and barbaric in about 20 years.

When it comes to BigPharma, the recent history, going back to the statins scam that started in the 1950s, there is no presumption of innocence, including and especially its captured regulatory agency, the FDA.
