9. West Virginia
10. Texas
son what is your expert prediction on the Georgia/SC game next weekend?
son that one could go either way, but if I had to choose I would go with Georgia.
South Carolina is fools gold year in and year out.
I don't think Texas is the 10th best team in the nation but outside of that it looks about right.
well they are better than Notre Dame, Ohio State, and USC who were the other choices near them. however with said ... personally I think that Mississippi State who the media currently has ranked around #21, would beat any of those three teams on any given night. especially Notre Dame and Ohio "1-9 vs SEC teams" State.
not a bad list
hate to say it, but I would have Notre Dame/TCU in there ahead of Texas/WVU because I like their defenses better
Ohio St, UT, Louisville, WVU on the outside looking in. (in no particular order)
Best 1 loss teams? Climpsun and USC
Also...Big12 is clearly the second best conference... Just like it was last year, IMO
Mos Def agree about MSU...They're for real. Would put them in the high teen's instead of where they are now
Before I give out my list, let me point out what Texas did to Ole Miss vs what Alabama did to them. I'm sure I'm going to hear about what Arizona did to OSU vs what Texas did but also that OSU had two weeks to prepare for Texas.
So here is my top 10
1. Alabama (no doubt in my mind they are the best even when they don't try like they looked against Ole Miss)
2. FSU (easy call)
3. Oregon (easy call)
4. Georgia (still say they are very overrated but they have earned this spot.)
5. WVU (Geno Smith is the early favorite for the Heisman)
6. Texas (Overrated? Maybe, but if they beat WVU, they will have earned this spot.)
7. LSU (two bad games against really bad compe ion, either they are very overrated and will get exposed, or they are just a team that plays down to the level of their compe ion)
8. Notre Dame - They are looking pretty good.
9. Florida (Love their defense, and it looks like their offense is beginning to come around)
10 KSU (If this sticks then Snyder deserves COA honors for doing so much with so little talent. )
USCe has lots of talent but they are still way too overrated. I would put them 11-15
USC best one loss team also 11-15
Ohio State I hate cheaters but Urban Meyers has them looking good, Easily top 10 if they weren't on probation.
TCU is fake, I'd put them between 15-20
Louisville not sure I haven't watched anything on them.
Top teams per conf
ACC - FSU and Clemson no one else comes close
Big East - Louisville maybe, again they are so far off the grid I haven't watched any of their games or even footage.
B1G - Ohio state this is a very down year for the B1G
Pac 12 - Oregon and USC and then it drops off big time.
Big 12 - WVU KSU and Texas, but the next 4 are not too far off, this is a year where any of 7 teams can still win it.
SEC - Alabama then Georgia LSU USC and Florida and then it drops off dramatically. Will put a plug in for MSU, they might move into that 2nd tier.
Come on dude! Where are the Beavs???
6. Texas (Overrated? Maybe, but if they beat WVU, they will have earned this spot.)![]()
the butthurt is strong in this one
Why would I be butthurt? I just find it humorous that someone thinks Texas is the 6th best team in the country.
Like beating a team who lost to Arizona by 3 touchdowns by 4 pts was some huge feat.
Texas isn't a top 10 team, I agree with DT.
Maybe if they learn how to tackle....
Typical aggsy, still can't get Daddy off his mind, don't worry junior you are in a whole new conference with 5 new daddies to bend you over.
That pic is greatness. Never gets old.

not that there's anything wrong with that...
lol didn't click...but I'm sure it was funny too.
Kinda like Bama only beating an unranked Mississippi team at home by 19, while Texas beat them by 35 on the road, and could have easily scored over 70, but chose to kneel 4 times and turn the ball over at the end of the game, while on the Mississippi 1 yard line.
Hmmm...
Unfortunately, I have to remind myself... this is aggie fan im talking to, and probably need to explain myself, so I dont get a response like "ZOMG HOW DARE YOU COMPARE TEXAS TO BAMA, BECAUSE BAMA PLAYS IN THE SEC SO THEY WOULD BEAT TEXAS 192 to -14 BECAUSE WE ARE IN THE SEC NOW!!!"
no, im simply saying that comparing how one team plays an opponent, to how another team plays an opponent doesnt always mean much of anything. football is such a game of matchups, that those kinds of comparisons sometimes simply arent fair. Oklahoma State, and basically any team with a mobile QB that utilizes options and zone reads in their offense are going to give Texas troubles, because of their inexperienced linebackers. OTOH, teams that play a more pocket oriented passing game are likely to have more issues, due to Texas' strength at secondary and d-line.
I'm not saying Texas is a top 10 team either. Too hard to say at this point. The only two teams that have seemed to stand out is Alabama and Oregon, and even then, neither of those teams have played any particularly good teams. Bama got a huge bunch of love for beating Michigan, who sucks ass and was ridiculously overranked to start the season. Arguably, the best opponent they played was Ole Piss actually, who doesn't have that terrible of a team, and has had a misfortune of playing both Texas and Bama early, but may actually be worthy of a rank by seasons end, as may Arizona and Okie State.
Totally different situations. Bama was never in doubt of losing the game. They ran up the ball up the middle all game.
Neither was Texas.
Really? Then why did Bama throw it more times than Texas threw it, despite having fewer offensive plays ran?
