U kidding me? Sure Marbury is more physical than TP & a better scorer, but he's selfish & a thug. No Thanks.
TP needs to work on his jump shot this offseason & not just his CD!
If the Knicks go with a point guard, that might lead to a trade of Marbury, who is 29 and not expected to contend for a le anytime soon.
Several teams out West, including Minnesota, Memphis, Houston and even San Antonio would be interested in a talented veteran who is better suited to be the second or third best player on a team. The Knicks won just 33 games last season, which means no one is untouchable, not even Thomas' pet player.

Talk about rumors, the Spurs can't be interested in this fool.
The man has been on 3 different teams and hasn't won jack, theres obviously something wrong with this dude.
Maybe Tony can show him a thing or 2, trophys that is.![]()

another reporter talking out his ass. NO WAY Spurs are looking at Marbury, we don't have left over funds for the babysitters we'd need to hire to keep him in check.
Marbs has a bloated contract no way spurs wanan touch that
Word. He makes a ton of jack. I'd rather see if NVE would be interested in a cheap contract for a backup role.
I have no complaints about that one.
Didn't he say last year was his last or something like that?
NVE would be a dream pick-up. I hadn't even thought of him.
NVE as a backup would be awesome. He's a couple years older than 03 WCF where he was killing us with the 3 ball. I think he would excel in a back up role with the spurs. we would have that cool vet who's been in pressure situations before. His strengths would compliment tony's weaknesses coming off the bench.
Make it so.
Can't trade Tony this year because he will be a Base-Year player.
Ive read alot of articles and rumors, and spurs are always mention in the mix, why are they even mentioning us, we are not lookin at adding players to the team besides scola and a rookie. Probaly using the spurs to raise the stakes n value of a player.
It is a stupid rumor. The only guy we could possibly trade is Tony Parker, and his contract is nearly untradeable this year because he is a BYC player.
Doubtful. I don't think Pop would be inclined to try to tame such a huge playbreaker this late in his career for that money.Let's not kid ourselves, if the Spurs had a chance at getting Starbury he would be here in a sec
Yeah trade for a selfish gangsta, that would about not enough shots.
Anyone ever noticed the trend wherever Marbury goes, he loses?!?!?!
Coincidence maybe?
van exels done
hes got no knees
i really wouldnt care about marbury
but we do need a 3/2
I wouldn't mind a Barron Davis/Tony Parker trade. But that will never happen.
Stephon is a poor man's TMac. He's a scorer, and he will get you some wins. But he won't get you a championship, and he will not adapt his game enough to fit in with a new team, new players, let alone a new philosophy. And I think that's why Parker will stay in San Antonio.
Parker buys into Pop's system. He accepts that the team isn't all about him, and that it will never be. But if you bring in Marbury, his expectation is that he will be the focus, and all the other players will revolve around him. And when you have Tim Duncan, Manu Ginobili carrying your team, everyone else needs to play second fiddle.
I would.I wouldn't mind a Barron Davis/Tony Parker trade
Baron Davis while a great player, plays what, 48 games a year?
Has the worst back problems outside of Devin brown and T Mac.
Pop said he would first look for a PG in the draft (and maybe might trade up if possible to get one) on his radio show. This Indicates they may not be quite as happy with Beno as they thought. And they may have their eye on someone.
Marbury is past his prime and I don't foresee any situation where that clown would be willing to take a backup to Parker. There are plenty of teams in the league who could use him, but the Spurs are not one. The only team that I see on that list that would make good use of him might be the Griz. The rest of those teams, while they are in need of a point guard, really need a pass first guard.
If you want to make the playoffs, get a scoring point guard. If you want to win the championship, get a pass-first point guard.
Some teams need to decide which one they want.
Billups is a scoring point guard
unless your the Spurs. If you want to win the championship, get a pass-first point guard.
true, but for them to win, he has to get the ball distributed.Billups is a scoring point guard
The Spurs can win with parker scoring in the offense.
If Billups gets too many shots, the Pistons struggle to win.
The Spurs will have to move up if they want a point guard who will contribute more than Beno. We're talking lottery here -- would have to be some kind of trade to make this happen.
Baron is done he's always injured, no thanks.
Stephon Marbury sucks.
