I believe he did that on purpose. Like setting them as the underdog or avoid a jinx thing.
IN THE WEST?! What the heck, Bruce? He usually has the Silver and Black's back![]()

Best record in West two years running, and if Ibaka/Collison/Perkins don't put on a 90% shooting clinic from 15-feet in game 3, we are in the Finals.
No way Bruce really thinks that.
While I don't agree at all with that, I don't think it's a big deal.
Worse yet he puts the GRIZZLIES And THE CLIPPERS ahead of us. Come on now bruce you know better than that.
Naa, not at all. He's probably just doing what the OP said. It's just too quiet in here, gotta talk about something![]()
He's probably just trying to avoid looking like a homer
No one on the spurs defended - that is a big part of why someone shoots 90 percent...
I'd be completely happy with 5th in the West if it meant going into the playoffs healthy and on a roll.
To meet the Lakers in the second round? No thanks...
Bringem. If we want to win the le we are going to run through some great teams to do so
Don't agree. Spurs top 3 at worst unless Mr. Glass misses most of the season again.
Tbh, I have:
1: Lakers
2: Spurs
3: Grizzlies
4: Thunder
5: Clippers
6: Nuggets
7: Timberwolves
8: Rockets
Yes I have the Mavs missing the playoffs (barely), though there's a small chance they will squeak in to the 7th or 8th spot. I wouldn't bet on it though unless one of the guys I have at 6-8 decides to tank for one more year for a draft pick. The Jazz will drop down into tank status, Suns will be battling for dead last, and the Blazers are completely done for the foreseeable future imo.
Shut up, got.
he's probably saying the company line.
Remember what Elliott said about working for ESPN and how they always wanted to down play the spurs? He never agreed with it.
Works for ESPN, no wonder he's the anti-homer, tbh, fwiw, imo
The Spurs are a great regular season team but they're going nowhere in the playoffs with Bonner in the rotation.
Spurs were No 1 last year bc Parker played like an MVP. If he digresses or if the threes don't fall, then Bruce isn't far off.
Hidden agenda, he meant le # 5
Yeah, I fear this as well ... compared to the last preseason the Spurs did not look very sharp. The shortened season combined with less time for practicing really seemed to gave them an advantage because of the team's continuity. Lets hope Parker gets his act together and Kawhi starts to make some shots ...
This.
Wait nevermind. Bruce!![]()
Mavs fan mad his team sucks again.
back to back regular season champs with nothing to show for it
