Dont know much about this game.
If I buy this game will I be clueless as to the story or do I need to play the other games to know what is going on?
I've never play any of the AC games. Might buy it off the PSN.
I was about 30% in when the storm hit... adult Connor at that point... still on the 1st disk... game is great, tbh
You're missing out... I played all of them except AC II... they're all pretty good
the 2nd disk is only mutiplayer
The differences between AC1 and AC2 are night and day imo. I couldn't even finish AC 1 yet I loved AC 2. Still need to play Brotherhood and Revelations though, ers keep pumping these games out too fast.

That was the main reason why I didn't buy these games. I honestly got annoyed with the influx of AC games they were putting out.

I didn't play the others but the commercial looked cool, is it worth the buy or should I rent?

I love these games. You can certainly enjoy the gameplay if you're new to the series, but the storyline may make little sense, even though it gives you a quickie recap at the beginning.
There are videos online that can fill in most of the gaps though.

When I had my interview with THQ a few months ago, I met Raymond Desilets, who was the Lead Designer for the Assassin's Creed Series (they make the gmes here in Montreal)
(he works for THQ now, they stole him from Ubi Soft - Ubi Soft Montreal sued THQ but they lost - ROFLCOPTER)

I just redboxed it and I'm like 2.5 hours in, started off slow but it's starting to pick up. You start out as the British dude on a voyage to Boston, not as the half native American/Brit yet. I think that guy is his son.
Oh, the redcoats are assholes...they shove you away when you walk by them wtf
beginning was super slow and pissed me off, but it does pick up later and that mother ing swerve was worth it
I'm finally adult Connor in Boston. Interesting way to start the game. Just as I was starting to get used to the protagonist and actually like the guy...
