    Tim Duncan A-
Another strong all-around game that featured key production on both ends.

    Manu Ginobili B+
Nothing shocking in his 2012-13 debut. Predictably helped right away.

    Tony Parker A-
Had lulls but he did well orchestrating the offense most of the night.

    Kawhi Leonard A-
Extremely efficient offensively. Quiet yet solid defensively.

    Danny Green A-
Precise in all facets on offense. Defense was good but not great.

    Boris Diaw B+
Very stout individual defense but everything else was lacking.

    Tiago Splitter D+
Soft finishes ruined what could have been a quality outing.

    Matt Bonner C+
A lot better ... but still has a ways to go.

    Stephen Jackson B-
He had a few memorable plays but was mostly too passive.

    Gary Neal C+
He took gunning to a whole new level. D took a step back.

    Nando De Colo Inc.
Surprise cameo in the fourth. Passing instantly shined.

    Pop B
A little slow in his damage control but correct calls in fourth.

I was asking myself the same question, didn't get a good indication of it during game obviously - too little time. I haven't seen him play before

    Tiago Splitter D+
Soft finishes ruined what could have been a quality outing.
So we can conclude that this is the type of player Splitter will be for the rest of his career?

In the few minutes De Colo played he didn't look lost for one and gave passes most players wouldn't dare throw. Certainly not in his position.

Splitter started slow last season too ... also because of softness in the paint. After a couple weeks he started playing very well. Let's hope that repeats this season.

if Splitter learned how to dunk we'd be singing a different tune about tonight. he cut beautifully and was in position. the dude just needs an at ude/intensity adjustment.

How can Stephen Jackson be passive when no one passes him the ball? He hardly even gets a touch on offense. He doesn't need to shoot the ball every time he gets it, but why don't his teammates pass him the ball so he can at least get a touch every now and then. It's gotta be hard for him to get any kind of rhythm going when he doesn't even see the ball.

I've kind of had enough of Gary Neal just running down the court and jacking up shots. It's getting ridiculous. He needs to get people involved.

Does Splitter have a special coach or something? If not, they should really consider getting Splitter a special coach to help him improve his game and stop being so dang soft.

Gary Neal isn't a real point guard. Everyone knows this by now. He doesn't look to pass and jacks up shots at a ridiculous rate when he's playing.

De Colo is the complete opposite of Neal. He never looks to score and is a pass first point guard. He's slow and struggles to defend fast guards and is a very low percentage shooter.

The problem with Splitter is that when he gets to the basket, he goes up with his hand on the side of the ball instead of on the front as if he was going to palm the ball. It is in the same motion as if he was trying his "hook" shot. A slight change in how he holds the ball as he goes in for a layup would help greatly.

The poor finishing comment about Splitter is correct. It was the glaring weakness, he'd get in good position after doing all of the hard work, and then tossed it up weakly.

He'll probably get better as the season goes on, getting rhythm back, and playing weak reserves later. So far, we've gone up against teams with pretty solid reserve front courts. Jason Smith is a good backup Center, Thabeet is Big, and Collison is maybe the most underrated player in the NBA, and the jazz have Favors on the bench. There are easier match ups with bench centers to come.

Kawhi and Green were ridiculously efficient.

Splitter is one of the most efficient cutters in the NBA, tbh..he seemingly always makes the correct cut to the basket, his positioning is great, his pick and roll game is great..it's a shame that he can't finish with power, the Spurs would have the ideal player that they have been missing, tbh..

too many minutes for the sandwich man once again
dont know what pop is thinking
bonner spreads the floor on one end but in reality he just passes up shots or when people care to defend him they can rotate out since his release is slow and low
and on the other end he gets thrown around and the other team feasts on the offensive glass

i need to see a gif of that time favors backdown on bonner and bonner got hit in the face and acted like a little

Yep Neal at the PG is a joke, I said it on another board and some other idiot said he practiced it in the offseason and can run the backup PG! I nearly laughed myself to sleep. Neal is not a PG and never will be, get it POP? I doubt he does. HIS SHOT SELECTION IS FLAT OUT HORRIBLE AT TIMES, period.

Maybe that is what SJax needs to do? Please don't complain, Spurs are picking up right where they left off.
