Don't gamble with your money... problem solved
Thats what happens when you invest in the stock market. There is no guaranteed return.
I wont even say how much Ive lost.
What do you think 401k's are?
Private sector employees depend on our investments. We don't have a giant government teet waiting for us when we retire (funded by our fellow citizens).
Gambles on the market? Did you read the fine print on the 401k? As DR said, there's no guaranteed returns.
Depending on the market is a bad idea, IMO. Especially what the market looks like right now.
And what I mean by right now, I mean where there's more machine-made trades than human-made trades and the onus is on cashing in now instead of investing long term. This isn't your grandpa's market anymore.
Follow my lead and you too can make enough off of Facebook to buy a really nice cheeseburger!
I lost 50k before he was reelected. It's the stock market, bury your money in the backyard if you don't want the risk.
Most of my losses recently have been because of Apple, but that started before the election.
Chart since Nov 4, 2008, the day Obama was elected.

I took all my money out of the market back in 09'. It's never going back in. May not get much return but I know it'll be safe. I do have some gold, however. Wall Street.
Around 5 more years and I'll be able to buy a nice house cash money (been saving for 12 years), without having to rely on a bank. I also have zero debt and don't pay for unless I have the money to back it up. I don't live as nicely as some of my friends, but I also don't have to worry about anyone coming to take my
I hate to break it to you but you're taking a big risk on gold even though you don't know it. Also it's just as foolish not to risk any of your money as it is to risk all of your money on the market.
Full disclosure -- I fully expect the market to exceed 13K by the end of Nov. At least I'm hoping.
I lost 1/3 of my balance in 2008. > 50K
The backyard burial retirement plan isn't all that great, tbh.
Will you never stop whining?
Do you ever stop stalking?
Darrin refuses to accept his losses are ON THE BANKSTERS GREAT DEPRESSION caused by Repug/VRWC policies and/or on his ty bets in the stock market.
Looks to me like Obama's socialist policies only hurt the economy every 5th quarter. 1st quarter 2009, 2nd quarter 2010, 3rd quarter 2011, 4th quarter 2012.
You have me confused with Wild Cobra.
I'll take your non-answer as a no.
Liar.
You constantly replay to people you follow in negative ways.
I reply in negative ways to just about everybody, flaglot.
Can someone fill me in? Is this a and moan thread about losing money in the stock market?
The market was basically even today. I'm not following what the big deal is.
Predictable Wall Street hissy fit over the possibility of tax hikes on capital gains and the top marginal rate. Once reality sets in and they are done sulking, I fully expect the market to bounce back. If we can get a reasonable solution to the fiscal cliff, 2013 should be a pretty good year. I'm with ElNono though, the market is too damn dangerous now with all of the computerized trading. That should be outlawed.
