“It gives me a seat at the table when some of the most important decisions are being made in Washington for Texas and the nation,” he said, adding that he’ll use the post both to help Texas and to showcase the state’s economic vibrancy. “Texas is to me the model for the rest of the country.”

Cornyn predicts that he and the new Texas senator, Ted Cruz, will work side by side both to limit overall spending and to get Texas as much as possible from whatever is spent.

“We’re going to fight for Texas to get its fair share,” he said.

    "the state’s economic vibrancy"

TX ain't nothing but a commodity (carbon extractor) producer, same as Louisiana. Both would be poor as like AL and MS without oil and gas.

CA agriculture would not sell if the farmers had to pay municipal water rates for water taken from the rivers.

So our senators are going to promote unnecessary corporate welfare in the federal government.

They could have an F1 track in the mall.
