Northside Independent School District has reassigned a Jay High School student who has refused to wear the student ID badge that the district started using this year to track attendance.

It's too bad they try to make this a religious issue because they'd have a great argument otherwise. Schools give their faculty certain powers over students they shouldn't have. I still don't understand why students are not allowed to wear hats inside.

There are some great anti-RFID arguments, but none of them involves religion. I'm afraid that nuts like these might dilute the legitimacy of those arguments.
I always considered the symbolism of the mark, on the head or the hand, to mean we are all guilty in the system we accept coming, by thought, or deed. I never thought of it as a physical marking that is seen.
