Spurs don’t expect Leonard for home stand

Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich said before Saturday’s game with Memphis that small forward Kawhi Leonard is unlikely to make his return during the Spurs’ upcoming three-game home stand.
“I don’t think so,” he said when asked if Leonard will play against the Grizzlies, Milwaukee (Wednesday) or Houston (Friday).

If he doesn't come back soon I'm going to have to Kawhi... myself to sleep
I was hoping he'd be back tonight against Memphis!!
He did well against Rudy Gay last year didn't he?? If I remember correctly...
No one is playing tonight, were on strike.Lol. Davey boy Sterm. I'll go with the template " I hope Pop is just being the cautious Pop" which we all know he is but still, would have loved to have the young buck back asap rocky style. At least we know he'll be 90- 100% when Pop lets him loose. Godspeed 'Whi!

I guess Kawhi's injury is slightly more serious than we thought. He expected to play against Memphis, however he isn't expected to play at all this week. Green may miss time ,though we have four days off. Our schedule easies up a little bit so we should be able to hold off on rushing him back.
It's all about having all the guys healthy for the long haul.
Rushing Kawhi back might have resulted in a Derrick Rose situation, and that's no good for the future star of the franchise.
The Bucks and Houston at home and then Charlotte, Houston, Utah and Portland on another road trip. If we could get him back somewhere in there we should be fine. It'd be nice to get him back after Charlotte and then have a few warm-up games before Boston on the 15th.
So what is actually going on here? Is he not healing as expected or do the Spurs just want to get him a little more rest?
btw was Kawhi and Jack at the game? I didn't see them, but that is maybe because I had to watch the Memphis broadcast of the game on Game Time broadband.

Sean Elliott lost the second half (43 games) of one season and the first half (46 games) of the next one to quad tendinitis. You don't want to rush this, especially since we're winning anyway.
i've asked this before but what caused this in Kawhi. was it overuse, did he not condition properly, perhaps landed awkardly or is it something that certain people are prone to? i really hope it isn't the last one.
just wondering how common this situation is, cuz I really hope this is something that can be taken care of. If it's simply overuse than Pop should continue holding him out.
rumor on the street is, Stern is preparing another fine for the Spurs for holding Kawhi back and cheating NBA fans in the process.
That sounds horrible. Are you sure it was the same ailment?
Those are all very good questions. Anyone with the expertise in the field, can you please give us a little bit of insight?
With tendinitis one can only guess, as we do not know the severeness. I played years with it in both knees (and looked relatively as bad as Pau Gasol right now), then I tore an ACL and had to sit out a year. After that the tendinitis was gone and now I play healthier than ever. But I don't know why the Spurs would say Kawhi comes back in 14 days when there is a possibility he might miss half of the season or more ...
Lmao classic!
