@ Parker behind Lin and Nash.
Which is exactly why the fan voting is a farce and should be obliterated altogether.
As I figured, Tim is never gonna be able to compete with Durant, Howard, and Griffin in the "front-court" vote but, barring a dramatic drop-off or injury (*knock on wood*), I don't see how the coaches don't select him as a reserve.
Everything as expected ... only Durant is better than Timmy right now and right now he is a sure selection by the coaches (as is Tony)
I call BS on the Jeremy Lin vote total. It's probably missing a digit unless China has blocked NBA.com.
Really sad that Varejao is getting no love, even for the top five forwards/centers.

It's amazing that not even factoring in the fact that Duncan plays fewer minutes that he's outplaying these fools who are a decade+ younger than him.
@ Gasol being closer to Duncan than Duncan is to starting.
Basically, he's got to continue to play relatively well for another month (about 20 more games). The starters are announced on 1/17 and then the coaches vote with the reserves likely being announced a week later (for the 2012 game, the starters were announced on 2/2 and the reserves announced on 2/9).

LOL Lin, go figure this crap would happen. Take the voting away from the fans as Charles said before lol. I swear what a joke.
How about Dirk and Asik over Randolph and Gasol?
Duncan should be starting, no question, and Parker behind Nash and Lin is an absolute joke.
whaaaaaaaaaaaaat ???????

Tim Duncan won't be campaigning for his 14th All-Star nod

Tim Duncan is a Hall of Fame lock, the best power forward of all time or one of the top centers of all time (depending how you view positions), and he's a 13-time All-Star in the NBA. Last season was the first time Duncan didn't make the All-Star team in the Western Conference. If it doesn't happen this season, he'll be just fine with it.

This is what happens when you've spent a decade and a half in the NBA. You begin to value your rest and time with your family above accolades. From MySanAntonio.com:
But Duncan's streak of consecutive All-Star appearances ended last season when the fans picked young guns Kevin Durant and Blake Griffin as starters, and the Western Conference coaches opted not to add him as a reserve.Duncan said that he won't campaign for a 14th All-Star selection and that he "wouldn't complain" if he doesn't make the All-Star roster this season.
Then, Duncan discovered the joy of a long midseason weekend with his family.
“I enjoyed it tremendously,” he said Monday morning from a courtside seat at the Toyota Center, where this season's All-Star Game will be played Feb. 17.
In this piece about Tim Duncan by Chris Ballard earlier this year, the idea of how important time with his family is for Duncan was very apparent. When you're on the road for a good chunk of the year and constantly working out, fine-tuning your body and figuring out the best way to game-plan for your next opponent, I'd imagine it's pretty tough to get a ton of quality time with your wife and kids during the season.
Now, he just has to make sure Gregg Popovich doesn't carry the torch for another NBA hat tip to just how good Duncan has been and continues to be.
“I will not be campaigning,” he said. “I haven't heard what Pop's been saying, but I guess I've got to talk to him.We all know Popovich is fine with keeping his guys out of nationally televised games.
“I wouldn't complain if I'm not on the [All-Star] roster. I want to play well and want to feel good about what I'm doing on the court, but I am not going to be unhappy if I don't make it.”

I wonder if the all-star game has ever had two starters from the same sub-500 team before.
True, he's the best Jefferson in the western conference for the first time in several years...
Wow, this is bull . Tim should be the #1 or #2 frontcourt player, and Tony should be the #2 or #3 backcourt.
Although he's having an off year so far, Manu has less votes than Rubio who hasnt played a second yet
popularity contests
Why even get worked up over it?
Cool to see Duncan made it. He should be a starter over Blake & Howard but ehhh what can you do...
Glad to see Blake Griffin and Chris Paul getting votes despite being on a small-market team...
But they....
oh...
wait....
I see what you did there.
A free weekend to rest up, no big deal.
What's funny? It's a popularity contest. Makes sense.
Yeah it's a popularity contest, but those results are still laughable.
Howard over Duncan/Z-Bo
Garnett over Bosh
Lin even getting any votes, same with Nash
