Manu Ginobili will not play for his native Argentina at the 2013 FIBA Americas Championship in Caracas, Venezuela.
"Manu will not play in 2013," Argentina coach Julio Lamas said. "He told me. So I think we should leave him alone. I have to worry about those who go."
Lamas recently traveled to the United States to see Pablo Prigioni, Luis Scola and Carlos Delfino.
Lamas did not meet up with Ginobili.
"It's not that I do not follow him because I see him play (on television) all the time," Lamas said. "But again, I have to assemble the team of Caracas."

Don't remember this being posted, but good news. Probably the first time I've wanted him to not play for the NT.
I agree, but at the same time it's irrelevant at this point. It's not an important international tournament, and the Spurs aren't going to realistically contend anyway.
I wonder what this means, he's either going to try to rest his body or he's going to retire as he said he would.
it might not even matter if he decides to retire after the season is done.
