sons of course he will continue to block a lot of shots, grab a lot of boards, and make Sportscenter's highlight reel every night with a fancy dunk, but he is not the reason a team is successful. we saw it in Orlando during the playoffs when other players like Turkoglo carried the team and was the main guy in the clutch.... we saw it when Orlando made it to the finals and Dwight barely averaged 15 points per game .... and we're seeing it again now with the Lakers as he is the youngest "superstar" on the team who should be carrying the torch, but is consistently ting the bed and throwing others under the bus as usual.

    I love it.

Howard reminds me of Drew Brees, tbh..one elite run to the Finals(NFL is 1-game elimination, therefore allowing fluky results) and big numbers throughout his career, but disappoints in big games..

BRPelican with the truth bomb. Funny how he had Hedo and Shard to hit big shots and FTs since he blew at both, and how he needed a gimmick system to even get to the Finals.

Tbh, while I would never consider Turkoglu and Lewis to be all-world defenders, the Magic team defense was still good enough to funnel driving players into the lane where Bible Kemp would be available to knock the ball into third row, and they did close out on shooters well enough, something one dominant center alone cannot guarantee.

So do Deron Williams and Joe Johnson reprise the Turkoglu and Lewis roles for Bible Kemp in Brooklyn next year?

league source told the Daily News that the Lakers stars got into a heated exchange following a New Year’s Day loss to the 76ers, and Bryant went for a low blow – referencing and agreeing with Shaquille O’Neal’s criticisms of Howard being soft.

Howard was restrained from going at his teammate, according to the source, and there have been rumblings from the center’s camp that he’s been unhappy with Bryant since earlier in the season.

Three days after the altercation, following a disheartening loss to the Clippers, Howard complained about the lack of chemistry on the Lakers. It was a comment seemingly directed at Bryant, who is averaging a league-high 22 shots despite playing with three potential Hall of Famers.
