1. Bernard King has been kept out for too long.
2. When does Pop get nominated?
Tark the shark nominated so it's kind of Spurs related. The entire list of nominees from the North American committee (which includes pro, college and high school ranks): John Bach, Bavetta, Gene Bess, Maurice Cheeks, Jack Curran, Bobby Dandridge,Lefty Driesell, Bill Fitch, Cotton Fitzsimmons, Travis Grant, Tim Hardaway, Spencer Haywood, Robert Hughes, Kevin Johnson, Marques Johnson (first time on the ballot), Gene Keady, Bernard King, Guy Lewis (first time), Danny Miles, William (Speedy) Morris (first time), Motta, Curly Neal, Payton, Rick Pitino, Mitch Richmond, Paul Silas, Eddie Sutton, Jerry Tarkanian, Rudy Tomjanovich, Paul Westphaland Gary Williams.
Mark Jackson was removed from the ballot after not receiving a single vote in three years, despite being third on the career assist list.

Thoughts on the list?
1. Bernard King has been kept out for too long.
2. When does Pop get nominated?
Names that stick out the most to me are Bernard King, Maurice Cheeks, and Gary Payton
Am I the only one to find it fundamentally wrong that less than 50% of the HOF members are players?
Pop isn't eligible until he's either been fully retired for five years or has been a full-time assistant or head coach (any any level, including high school or college) for at least 25 years.
Pop should be beyond the 25 year mark when the enshrinement process starts up again for 2014 and I'd imagine he'll be on the ballot at that point.
Yeah, that's among the Hall's flaws.
Rofl
I made the list, es !
And Bavetta ? Really ?
Thanks. I thought that he had already met the 25 year requirement (8yrs as a college head coach, 3+ as Brown's assistant in San Antonio, and over 15 full seasons as head coach of the Spurs).
Speaking of Pop, Spurs should definitively hang a jersey in the rafters for him when he will retire. Few coaches got that honor but Pop truly deserves it.
Bavetta's going in. He's worked more games than anyone in NBA history, worked an insane number of playoff games (at least 266), worked 27 Finals games and in every Finals between 1990 and 2008. That's a Hall of Fame resume for an official.
By the way, Joey's a mortal lock, with more than 300 playoff games worked, almost 50 Finals games and 3 Game 7's in the Finals.
I'd be shocked, too, if Danny Crawford and Steve Javie aren't also both enshrined at some point.
My math says that, too, but it might be that he needs this season to be on the ballot when the next cycle begins.
That, or he was on the ballot this year but wasn't among the finalists. I would find that really hard to believe, but I suppose it's possible.
When is Horry eligible? Next year?
When does Stern nominate himself?
There are a lot of good names in there this year, but also some puzzling ones. I would find it very hard to choose from that crop.
My best guest would be:
Bavetta,
Maurice Cheeks,
Bernard King,
Gary Payton,
Rudy Tomjanovich
Maybes:
Tim Hardaway,
Kevin Johnson,
Mitch Richmond,
Paul Westphal,
Paul Silas,
Spencer Haywood
Bernard KING should make it, he should have been in already.
Vintage video of King scoring 60 points.
Quan y not quality, a good summary of how these popularity contests work, be it HoF, All-Star game, etc.
Seeing as Pop is a surefire 1st ballot inductee, I find that hard to believe as well.
Mo already missed the cut once. There's nobody on your "maybe" list that wouldn't get in before him.
Which is a damn shame, because he was probably better than all of the players there.
As a Sixers fan from that era, I don't think he was. He's Mark Jackson with far better teammates.
My top 5 nominees:
Kawhi La'Tadius Leonard
Kawhi La'Tadius Leonard
Kawhi La'Tadius Leonard
Kawhi La'Tadius Leonard
Kawhi La'Tadius Leonard
Just kidding, but Benard King and Gary Payton should have already been in there.

And Mark Jackson is third in assists all-time and had a rule-change named for him. He should get in before Mo does.
Props to Oscar Schmidt. Well deserved
Sidney Moncreif belongs in the hall.
