The Spurs have won eight of their last nine and the one loss (Thursday in New York) came on the fourth game in five nights, perhaps validating Gregg Popovich's decision to sit his stars in Miami at the end of November. The good news is that they don't have another four-in-five stretch until late March. The bad news is that the fourth game in that stretch is in Oklahoma City on TNT.

I hate being first in the power rankings![]()
Fourth game in five nights for the Spurs and OKC is of course resting for 4 days before ?!?!
Another nationally televised gift from Stern to the Spurs
Stern is all I can say oh and GO SPURS!
yeah i saw that too, now watch stern drop a fine on John Schuhmann
timvp - your thoughts on Stern's neutering of Pop? Do you believe that to be true or no? Also, which games will be a sure sign that Stern has changed Pop to you (meaning in the upcoming games, which ones do you think Pop for sure sits guys out to where if he doesn't, it's undeniable Sterns influence, if any, has taken hold)?
Typical OKC... do those gots EVER play a marquee game without having 3-4 days off beforehand?
HOW DOES THAT NOT RAISE ANY FLAGS? THAT JUST PISSES ME OFF. SMH
all 3 of spurs tnt games have been the 4th game in 5 nights where the other team has been sitting at home playing with their dinks for weeks

Tied for the best record in the league... Pop is so neutered.
That literally has nothing to do with the point.
Neutering would seem to indicate that Pop is rendered ineffective. Does that seem the case to you?
No, neutering Pop would infer that Stern has forced him to change his philosophy and go against what he believes to be the best for his team. It doesn't mean they can't win. In fact, it might mean more regular season wins by playing his best players more games/minutes. But that isn't what Pop believes to be in the best interest of a le.
Pop will sit them out of the OKC game. It's not their only visit to Miami, which seemed to be the problem before.
Pop should send a letter right now to David Stern, the League, OKC, and TNT informing them that Tim, Tony, and Manu will be sitting out the game.
Pop should play Duncan, Parker, Ginobili, Jackson, Gren & Leonard 2 minutes then rest them for the rest of that game
Are "flu-like symptoms" and "stomach cramps" really that much out of fashion?
Hope the big 3 doesnt play.
Pop should let the NBA know ASAP.
