Nice! I guess it's a good thing that Beno and Rasho didn't play much during the finals. They'd be exhausted having to play again so soon.
Can you explain what this is again? The Slovenians have talked about it but I'm not sure if many here understand what the event is.
it was a faraway match of Jure Zdovc the legend of Slovenian Basketball
Zdovc:

Ok. Others gave short comments, I wil try to explain it a bit more. (I wasn't at the game though...)
The event was basically a farewell game of Jure Zdovc one of the best basketball players in Slovenia. He certainly was the best and most succesfull in his generation and the only Slovenian at the time that managed to play for the Yugoslavian national team.
Achievements:
- silver medal at 1988 olympics with Yugoslavia
- World Champion with Yugoslavia, 1990
- European Champion with Yugoslavia, 1989
- European Champion with Yugoslavia, 1991 - did not receive the gold medal after leaving the team because of the Slovenian independence conflict and war...
- European club champion with Limoges, 1993.
He was also known as one of the best defensive players in Europe and a player that were rarely made mistakes...
Here is a short video from the game (nothing exciting):

(not sure if I am allowed to post this link... well Kori will decide...)

This might not be of high importance to non-slovenian posters, but if anyone is interested Zdovc was the starting shooting guard in the Yugoslav team that had Drazen Petrovic at PG, Toni Kukoc at SF, Dino Radja at PF and Vlade Divac at C. I think most people would recognize that team as possibly the best outside the four Dream teams (regarding individual talent). Zdovc wasn't in the same category as the players mentioned talent wise, but he played a sort of a Bowen role on the team: played great defense, displayed total commitment to the team all the time and hit some threes along the way. He was always very popular among coaches and teammates, hence why so many big names showed up at this game.
Nice going Slo spurs fan and SLOVENIAN8. Who won? How did Rasho and Beno look? Did Rasho dunk?
![]()
ing YEAH!!
Rasho did dunk for change the lead in our favor!
Beno was higher scorer with 22 points.
But the result was not important.
Good game, with a lot of stars ...
I liked the girl in 4th row ...![]()
