Will it be the first time they are able to talk to Scola? If so, make sure he knows he's wanted for next season. And tell him to work on his rebounding and defense during the summer.
NBA teams can begin talking to free agents. Who do you think the Spurs will call? Do you think they'll try to negotiate with their own first?

are teams allowed to talk to players that are expected to get waived tonight?
Only after they get waived, I believe. They can't talk to them until they are free agents.are teams allowed to talk to players that are expected to get waived tonight?
Biggest free agent right now may be Nate McMillan.
I'd say they call their own first. Horry for sure.
i'd say they'd talk to robert horry and ask him how much he wants to stay here (and for how long) to maybe spread out the money over 2 or 3 years. then scola. then it probably depends on what they're thinking in terms of rasho and beno... and if there's a deal out there with a restricted free agent that can make the team better and maybe even trim the payroll? there's always guys like nve to talk to as well... later in the free agency period.
pop is in agrentine
I think that means spurs must want scola bad
when they signed rasho pop was next to his house at midnight
would you replace pop with him?
They can talk to Scola before tonight, he's not a free agent.
Be nice to have a team that would hit a free throw once in a while.
Also, is there conformation that Horry actually opted out?
I seriously don't see Pop moving Beno or Rasho. Rasho may eventually get traded, but probably not until midseason.
Beno better not go anywhere, he is a solid backup PG. He just needs some time.
i like both of them. i think that rasho would come up big against a team like the heat in the playoffs. (or at least very solid) but the teams we're facing are getting more athletic at the 4/5 in the west. if anything, i think we'd need another robert horry type 3/4 (younger). the only reason i said that about beno is because he might make a deal more attractive. (because of his contract/skills)
i dont think we have to make many/any moves other than sign horry and scola. a more solid backup point would be cool though.
The only thing that sucks about Rasho is his contract. If it wasn't for that, he would be a great bench player.
Rasho's contract is not that ridiculous. Why can't Spurs fans get that through their heads? For a 7ft Center that still has the potential to start, $6M is not that much. He will contribute regardless more than Malik did.
What we really need is to put our vBookie money where our mouths are.
Create a vBookie of FAs likely to sign to with the Spurs so we can bet on who will come.
i still think rasho can break into the nazr/duncan/horry rotation... but not if they play scola. the point is/was, if he doesnt play at all for that price (a la playoffs this year) he'll end up exactly like malik... somewhere other than san antonio. 6 to seven million isnt much for a center/backup center... but it is for a 11th or 12th man, isnt it?
1) Horry
2) Scola
3) Brown
4) Van Exel
5) White
6) Armstrong
7) Padgett
Maybe you can have Bobby Simmons' agent laugh in your face as well.

If there is a God and he wears silver and black...
Tim, Manu, and Tony are eaching standing on Bobby Simmons doorstep with a Naismith trophy in hand at 12:01, with RC tagging along with a contract offer.
y the would tim , manu, and parker go to simmons house, that reeks of desperation.
if anything, simmons should show up at parkers house, be his servant for a week, show up and do the same thing for manu, then tim
then, only then, should he be priviliged to play for the spurs
It's not desperation. It's called showing the guy that you want him.
There's other teams who will be able to offer more. I think if the three best players from a team showed up on a guy's doorstep with Naismith trophies in hand, he'd be thinking long and hard about coming.
yeah thats what im talking about, Bobby Simmons would be doing Manu's landscaping, cook food for Tim Duncan (from HEB of course), and then produce Tony Parkers french album. Thats what he has to do to have the privledge to play for the greatest franchise in history.
Know Simmons doesnt have to be privileged to play here. He is quietly becoming a stud player. The Spurs would be privileged to have him.
Man y'all sound like Laker fans. "He should be grateful to do Manu's laundry."
Complete bull .
