Big thing from this is that the nuggets actually nutted up and finished a game. That's a massive thing for us, big ghaz
A win is a win, but another frustrating performance by the boys. Cliffnotes: not pleased w/ Mcgee/Brewer. Koufos played a fine game, our passerrs set him up nicely.
It seems our weaknesses are here to stay: FT shooting, 3 PT shooting, turnovers, defense (we're not horrible, but we're also not lockdown).
Still hoping the boys can win 52 this year.

True, just wish the boys would clean some things up a little. Are we gonna be a historically bad FT shooting team? under 70% is unheard of.
And 22 turnovers tonight, yuck.
If we could just be an AVERAGE, not good.., AVERAGE 3-PT and FT shooting team it would make us about 3-4 points better, which is a big deal.
The FTs is worry, we aren't normally that bad
...as in this season. We've been bad all season, and its not normal. I guess chauncey and melo helped that in the past
Nuggets current FT % if sustained would be the 6th worst over the last 45 years... that's a lot of teams.
Interestingly enough though, a lot of good teams wind up in the top 10 of this category, including the 2003-2004 Spurs (57-25), 2000-2001 Lakers (NBA Champs), 2004-2005 Heat (59-23), and 94-95 and 95-96 Magic...Shaq
True, but we don't have anyone that brings what Shaq brought to the table, so we're really just a rubbish team at the stripe.
The reason the Nuggets blow at the FT line:
1. Trading Afflalo (a good FT shooter) for Iguodala (who cannot hit FTs despite the fact that he's decent beyond the arc)
2. A big rotation of Faried/Koufos/McGee, all of whom are below average at the line
3. Lawson and Gallinari blowing at the stripe, oddly enough
that said I like the big rotation of this team... all efficient finishers, but the only perimeter players who are trustworthy are Iggy and Andre Miller...
I have no idea why Iguodala is this bad at FT shooting. 62% for a wing player? He also shot 62% last year... although he's shooting around 72% for his career.
It's just an appalling leak in an otherwise fantastic player. His defense, passing, and finishing are great... but his shooting is what holds him back from being a true star.
Ever noticed how often iggy gets called for carrying/travelling? I swear its the most in the league. Where can I find that stat?
